Been a while, hasn't it? This is a response to
Justine Larbalestier's blog post on the subject,
Library Stories.
Lets see...
The earliest library experiences I can really remember involve my Elementary School library. (Library/Media Center) It was there that I learned to read better. It was there that I read tons of science books. With the YMCA program, I pretty much…

BEDA the last!
It feels like Friday. Yesterday it felt like Thursday. For some reason, this week has just felt off-kilter. I know I still have to go to class in a bit. Well, I must eat, check on Suite Scarlett, talk with my Professor in office hours, read something before class, oh, take a small survey for money and then of course go to class. We get some sort of paper topic for the massive paper due at the end of the quarter. Then I have to buy bread, so we have something to make food with. Ot…

Penultimate BEDA! (of 2009)
I don't have a theme or anything for today, although I do have stuff to discuss. Perhaps I do have a theme after all. But first let me get some stuff out of the way. Yesterday I received my copy of E. Lockhart's
The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks. My little order tracker said it was going to arrive on the 30th. It came early! When you add in the fact that is was a hardcover cheaper than all of the paperbacks I got, I am happy. (Not entirely true,…

BEDA about Books!
Whilst I was in the library (one of them) reading that book without zombies, I chanced to glance at a flier for a book collection competition. The prize is money. I like money, for it allows for the purchase of stuff. The prizes seem to range from about $100 to $500. So it isn't a giant prize, but it is nothing to sneeze at (unless you have flu of pig). Of course, my eyes were drawn to the word book. Book collection? I wasn't sure what that entailed. Did I have to have fancy o…

BEDA quickly!
This is timely in that it comes on the day the Maureen wrote a hilarious post about deadlines and procrastination and such. You may find it
here, if you haven't found it already. Right, so I now have very little time to write this, having squandered precious minutes reading MJ's post.
Today I woke up at 6:25 (approximately) in the morning. It is a lovely time in the morning for one to wake up.…

Meme as BEDA.
Since I'm feeling slightly worn out after a day of doing practically nothing but reading
The Picture of Dorian Gray and I've never done one of these before, I give you a RANDOM QUESTION MEME! (Also, I need to update my books read in 2009 list before I forget.) I haven't looked at many of these questions before hand, and of course they were stolen from
here.
1. How old do you look?
U…

BEDA about the Festival of Books
I was hoping to get up early and go explore the Festival of Books. I even set my alarm for 8:00 AM. Unfortunately I also set it forward quite a bit when it did go off, since I managed to stay up past 1:00 reading Wheel of Time stuff, mostly in the latest Reread on tor.com. Feels good to have my fix, especially for these particular chapters, as they are some of my favorites. Anyways, I didn't get up until almost 9:30 in the morning. Then my roommate wanted to hav…

This is a BEDA that never ends, it just goes on and on my friends....
So, I'm sure most people are now aware that Maureen Johnson must go to TRAPEZE school. She should know not to put challenges up on Twitter. If you want a copy of her book, you should comment on
her blog post quite quickly (she is giving out a copy to a lucky commenter, assuming what she got in that box was copies of her book.) You can also c…

Running out of something interesting to put here about BEDA.
I was going to write this up and post it earlier, but I keep getting distracted by various things. For one, I decided it would be a good idea to go back to sleep when my alarm went off, without resetting my alarm. It was wonderful and joyous and the like, but when I woke up it was closing in on 11:00 AM. I had to read about 50 pages before class, I wanted to write up my BEDA and I really did need to work on my paper which is due in le…

BEDA before I leave.
I suppose I should actually write this up before I go off for mentor training. I keep getting distracted by various things on the Internet. Also, I have to read about 50 pages tonight and write up most of my paper. All of that comes after my mentor training and eating and whatnot. But clearly we need to flash back to breakfast this morning (at 7:00 AM).
I was getting some raisin bran out for breakfast when I noticed the back had something on it. Kids need SHINY boxes with…

BEDA on a busy day.
Today I slept in until about 9:45 AM. I really needed the extra sleep time because I was not feeling great when I first woke up. The big task for the day, before class, was to finish my scholarship application and get it turned in. Unfortunately I had to get an unofficial transcript since I didn't have a recent one. This meant that I would have to give myself some extra time to make sure I could procure one and turn it in with the application before class (since the deadline…

BEDA after Relay For Life.
I am exhausted. I'm definitely sick right now and last night I'm fairly certain I had a fever. Hard to tell with all the sunburn, but I was really out of it. My little nap helped, but my body really wanted sleep. It could probably still use some sleep. My sunburn has started to fade. It will probably be a few days before I merely have a tan. My muscles are still sore, but a lot less so than yesterday. I must look odd when I walk around though.
It is even hotter today…

BEDA during Relay For Life.
This will cover primarily the events of April 18th through the 19th during the more than 24 hours in which I did not sleep. But first, a question must be answered!
TJ Deschler asks: What exactly is relay for life. Also, do you make out a list of things for you to do everyday?
Relay For Life is an event organized across many countries to r…

BEDA before Relay For Life.
I guess you'll be reading this about the time Relay For Life starts. Really depends on when I decide to have the magic time delay post this. Let us review the list I made last blog:
- Eat Lunch Done! Sandwich FTW!
- Print out, read and then post discussion questions about readings for one of my classes Check, and no on the other two. Might do that tonight or Sunday afternoon I guess. Had fun replacing my black ink cartridge for that. Turned out to be 3…

Waiting for the BEDA Buddies with BEDA'd breath.
If you haven't been following the whole Ashton Kutcher vs CNN thing, I shall briefly explain. Ashton challenged CNN to see who could get to 1,000,000 followers on Twitter first. If he won, he would donate $100,000 to
Malaria No More, which is enough for 10,000 mosquito nets. He later said he'd donate regardless of whether he won. Last night I decided to watch the final 10,000 or so followers to see who…

BEDA Buddies coming soon!
I guess I'll start with other topics first. I've been doing random things while I walk places. In middle school, whilst walking to my mom's (old) work, I would think up stories in my head. Or think about the book I was reading, or homework for class. Or plan out the rest of my day, etc. Mostly I thought up stories in my head, daydream if you will. Also got hit by a car. I guess I should have paid slightly more attention as I walked, but it would also be nice if the dri…

BEDA is almost half over!
Today is Wednesday. It creeped up on me. Busy day today, what with EARLY class. Which I managed to be extremely tired for and teetered on the edge of unconsciousness more than once. Professor probably noticed I was tired for the two back to back classes I have with him. After class I got a sandwich for lunch and ate it relatively quickly. Then I had to go meet my T.A. to discuss what I would be doing for my paper. Which I now I have to write soonish. Relay For Life wil…

BEDA before the deadline hits!
So I know that it isn't technically close to midnight yet over here, on the WEST coast, but it is coming down to the wire on MJST (Maureen Johnson Standard Time).
Firstly, CELEBRATION! Maureen answered some question(s) I asked her in her blog post. Go
here to see it! Also, I need to sign up for the buddy system. Should be fun. (It is possibly Maureen simply chose my question because it of…

Something BEDA this way comes.
Today is one of those icky days. The type of day when you have to get up early (6:25 AM) to get to class. I guess there isn't anything inherently wrong with 8:00 AM classes. I mean I used to get up at 6:00 in the morning, or earlier to get to high school on time. Maybe being slightly younger helps. I really don't know. I was drifting off in my first two classes (they are back to back, same Professor as well.) Mostly we talked about interesting things, but it was h…

BEDA BEDA BEDA BEDA....................
First of all, Happy Easter! Or Passover (which is already over?) Or Cheap Candy Season (which starts tomorrow... although maybe the time from Valentine's day into like summer could be considered as such.)
My parents are coming soonish (along with some relatives) and I don't know how long it will be before they leave, so I must needs get this done before they call to tell me they are here. (We will be eating at a restaurant, apparently. I haven't had any…
