Did you know it was the 21st anniversary of Andy Warhol's death this past Friday? Well, it was. My previous post was about it. But I wrote that sometime in January "just in case I forgot." Guess what--I forgot! I didn't notice until Saturday! Andy Warhol is one of my idols. And I forgot his death date.

On the morning of February 22, 1987 Andy Warhol passed away in his sleep at New York Hospital. The causes are debated (negligence, heart attack), but whatever it was, it still is a shame for the art community. In the 21 years since his death, everything about Andy has been shredded apart and generally exploited for someone else's gain. (Talking to you, Bob Dylan.)

As you may know, I live in Chicagoland. To be a bit more exact, I live near the Indiana/Illinois state line. Last week there was a very unfortunate shooting in Tinley Park. Being the occasional apathetic b**** I am, I didn't really care. I couldn't put my heart out to people I didn't know and probably never would have known.
