In which Hank argues with Hank about the Viacom v YouTube lawsuit. Important points:
1. Yes, YouTube knew that copyrighted clips were being uploaded. 2. Viacom once tried to buy YouTube 3. Viacom's Spike.com steals videos from independent video creators constantly. 4. Viacom wants YouTube to manually approve every video on the site, which would destroy YouTube
In
my opinion, YouTube should pay some reparations to Viacom based on…Continue

I've been back home now for a couple of weeks and some of you probably already know that I'm back, and while (full) recovery will most likely take a long long looooong time, I thought I'd get back to work here. Not that I wasn't back before. In the last few weeks I have discussed stuff with the other Ningmasters and I've suspended many spammers. But I suppose I'm not truly back until I announce that I'm back. So yeah, I am.… Continue
It took me a bit longer than a day or two to get this blog post done. Sorry about that. ^_^
After reading all your comments and suggestions on my previous blog post, I've decided upon a few things:
3 months for Ningmasters is too short. It takes a bit to get settled in and picking new Ningmasters takes some time too. New Ningmasters every three months would be impossible to keep up with. 6 months was a bit long for some people, so I'm going to make it 4 months. We'll see how… Continue
It's been about four months since we got the current Ningmasters, time to get some new ones?
That's the first point of this blog post. We're getting new Ningmasters. I'm not exactly sure how many yet, nor if we're gonna add positions or remove some. I'll figure that out in the next few days. But as always, we're probably gonna need people for the photos, the chat, the forum, the videos, possibly the blogs, books, etc.
I was also thinking of creating the position of… Continue
In which John reads from the J. D. Salinger novel The Catcher in the Rye in tribute to Salinger, who died yesterday at the age of 91. Having done so, John now immediately returns to paternity leave. Like all novelists who write about teenagers, he owes an immense debt to Salinger--not only because of Holden Caulfield but also because of the hauntingly beautiful portraits of the Glass family.
Thank you all for your kind wishes for young Henry, who is made of… Continue
The project for Awesome is coming closer. Only one more week. That means it's time to get really started. I've seen that some people are already working on their P4A videos. So here's the logo we'll be using as the thumbnail for all P4A videos. (click on the image for… Continue

In which John discusses Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga in both its book and film form, discussing the Twilight phenomenon in a way that will surely anger both Twihards and the series' detractors, thus infuriating everyone and pleasing no one. Also discussed: vampires; Edward Cullen, his hotness; Jacob Black, his torso; romantic relationships, why adults shouldn't have them with teenagers; reading; books; and true love, a beautiful… Continue
Later tonight there will be a special Friday video by Hank, but while we wait, I'd like to take a few moments of your time to talk about the joy that is FakeJohnGreen. It is, without doubt, the funniest thing in the history of Nerdfighteria and Dailybooth. Just look at these pics...
This is probably going to be my last picture blog here on the Ning. The Ningmaster applications are coming in, and I'll be able to find someone suitable for every position. I hope to get the picking done on Saturday. Then I can brief the new Ningmasters and get all of them up and running by the end of next week. So now, for the final time, I present you this week's…
Senior Executive Ningmaster1. I like that title. :) I just hope I can live up to the expectation.
Some of you have noticed that it's been over six months since the Ningmasters were appointed. And you may remember that the original idea was to replace (at least some) Ningmasters every three months. But, as John pointed out in the video above, they have been "failing so epicly"2 at stuff. That's why they decided to offer me… Continue
