This article has been sent around to the inboxes of many of the Catholic women I know, including my old religion teacher. A month late it arrived in my inbox. I am no longer Catholic. This is one of the big problems I have with not just the Catholic church, but most organized religions.

John Hughes died today. In honor of his death, my life became a bad teen movie.
I did not learn of John Hughes' death until I returned home at 1 AM. But I now believe that John Hughes, unbeknownst to me, was messing with my life from beyond death. This is the only explanation I can come up with for the night's events.
A huge, overcrowded party with multiple kegs and pounding music. Most of the time I avoid these sorts of parties. They are always busted and never fun. In 80's and 90's teen mo… Continue

[This is weird for me to be blogging here twice in one week*]
My brother, Johnny, is one of my best friends. Sometimes I find myself forgetting that he is my older brother, part of the family that I generally resent. We share the same gene pool, the same brown eyes, and the same childhood. Johnny was born only 13 months before I appeared on the scene. We were close enough in age to be put in the same grade for kindergarten but split up when I was sent to pre-first and Johnny went straight on to… Continue
Last night around six o'clock in the evening I was sitting in my room looking through old pictures. Normally I am not the sort of person to just look through a shoebox filled with old pictures for the sake of reminiscing and in fact that is not what I was doing. I was only looking through the box of photographs to find appropriate pictures to give to my friends as going-away-to-college momentos. However, this task quickly morphed into reminiscing and nostalgic musings on my childhood.
Then, it… Continue
I said I was returning to blogging and here I am. However, I have nothing of particular interest to blog about and so todays is just going to be a grab bag.

Not good for my Papa! He owns an AC and Heating company. However, I guess we're hypocritical because we're cutting back on using our central air as well. Nothing really interesting to say about t… Continue
I have a confession to make. Sometimes I wake up in the morning to find that my alter-ego* took over my phone and sent out hugely embarrassing texts (sometimes mass texts, sometimes texts to people I never talk to, sometimes texts to my aunt, sometimes texts to my old teacher, sometimes texts to that guy I like).
Of course this is a horrifying experience but I know how to make myself feel better.

I am just going to pretend that I didn't disappear from the Ning for over a month. I'm not even going to give an excuse because it is just so hopelessly generic and unimaginative, it's just not worth stating.
Instead I am going to talk about my 50 Books Challenge. I have read 26 books this year. This puts me relatively on schedule. I'm a little behind but nothing significant. Actually, I was hoping to get the majority of the books read before school starts. However, I did not anticipate how bus… Continue

I haven't been keeping up with this blog. For a while I cross-posted by BEDA blogs here but it became too much of a hassle so I just stopped. But I have not stopped blogging. I now blog every day except for Sunday. My blog is located at:
http://rosaleepip.blogspot.com
The blog is called many bells down. It comes from my favorite poem by E. E. Cummings*, "anyone lived in a pretty how town":
"Anyone lived in a pretty how town

[Once again, I did post a blog yesterday over at Maureen Johnson's special BEDA Ning. So I didn't fail.]
-------------------------
Dear World,
I wrote you a poem.
Love,
Pippa, a disenchanted and disgruntled citizen and a crappy poet
To whom this may concern,
To whomsoever my future may concern,
You may not know who I am
because sometimes my best friend Sam
overshadows me. But I want you to know
that--and this may sound random but it's not--I don't like snow.
I have several questions for you--… Continue

I have run out of original thought. There is nothing left in my brain except for candy-sludge. I don't know what I should blog about today. It doesn't help that I woke up and it hurt to open my left eye, which is now bloodshot and quite painful for no apparent reason.
I was supposed to be driving up to Syracuse (to check it out for college next year, it's one of my top choices) right now but that has been postponed until Thursday. Now I have three days to myself in our too-big house. It's been… Continue

It's Easter Sunday. As an atheist this doesn't mean much to me but my family is Catholic so I still get to enjoy the candy (and a new iPod. I should probably feel bad but it also counts as an early graduation present).
Since I've designated Sundays as the day I look back to my childhood, I thought I would share some of my childhood memories of Easter. Mainly, I just wanted to share this picture:

I've just realized that I never actually write about my day-to-day activities in this blog...And I'm not going to in this post either. My life isn't all that interesting, though, so you're not missing anything.
I've been sick all week, which is unfortunate because it is my spring break. This particular sickness has involved a massive migraine, which prevents me from doing much reading. But I couldn't just not read, so I chose an easy book.A comforting book from my childhood - A Wrinkl… Continue

Here are some Questions that plague me. These are very important Questions. 10 Questions for Day 10:
1. Do we actually need the letter Q?

4. What is that buzzing noise?
5. Is Cheese Whiz a Hazmat?
6. If a tree falls in the woods and only a deaf ,man is there as witness, is the deaf man named Eduardo?
7. Who is more awesome: Meat Loaf or Celine Dion?

Now, I love my brothers. They are annoying and sometimes smelly and they are stupid when drunk (or high in Danny's case) but I still love them. Partly I love them because they are my brothers but I also love them because I like to bother them. They are great people to annoy and I am a professional Annoyer.
I am the youngest of four children. If anyone else is the youngest child, generally from a family of more than two children, you can attest to our job as the Official Family Annoyer. We are p… Continue

I am watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch on TV right now. I love this show and I don't care who knows it.
Also, I'm on SPRING BREAK!
Back to Sabrina. I love this show! But I especially love the 90's goodness of it all. It's not just the fashion. This particular episode was about a school dance.
First, I love how in this episode, I think from the first season, Sabrina's best friend is a burgeoning feminist. She decides to go to the dance by herself to reject society's idea that a woman always n… Continue

My BEDA post today was a fairly lighthearted little piece about a piece of space debris falling from the sky into the field by my house. If you want a light little blog post, I recommend reading that one. This one is a major rant.
At the end of my first post, I talked about my newspaper. I didn't explain my specific grief because I generally like to keep my BEDA posts lighthearted.
But seriously. I just did some research and I'm too mad not to post more about this somewhere. So I came to… Continue

Space Debris in My Backyard!
Imagine me yelling that headline like the Oxi-Clean guy as a wacky, inflatable-arm flailing tube man. “Space debris in my backyaarrdddd!!!!! Waaahhhh!!!”
Ok. That’s my daily dose of crazy.
But seriously. Last week space debris landed in my backyard (sort of). A piece of a Russian satellite fell from the sky and landed in a field by my house.
What on earth are the odds of a piece of space debris landing in my backyard? They have to be astronomical! …….no? Too much… Continue

Seriously? Seriously.
This is the third time I am writing this blog post. And I have lost all patience. It's almost 10:30 and I have a shitload of homework to do. Sorry I can't be witty or entertaining or anything tonight.
It's been one of those days. One of those days. One of those days. Ok now I'm just abusing my right to use italics.
So here we go. Three Times Monday (I just came up with that on the spot. Why not?):
1. The Orioles won! We beat the [damn] Yankees 10-5. Winnin… Continue

Today I am sick. I do not feel like blogging. And so to cheer myself up I am going to watch Winnie the Pooh. I am still a 5 year old girl at heart and so when I am sick I like to watch Disney. This has also prompted me to declare Sunday as my Blast from the Past Day. Every Sunday for the rest of the month I will find something from my childhood that I miss and share it with whomever chooses to read this lowly blog.
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is probably one of my… Continue

I set out on a journey this morning. Actually it was the afternoon because I didn’t wake up before noon but in my mind it was still the morning. My goal – to secure a job. However, I did not anticipate meeting my nemesis on the way.
I stepped out the door carrying a small pile of books I had to return to the library when I tripped. I have the uncommon ability to trip over thin air. It has taken years of practice to reach my current level of tripping ability. Alongside training my tripping abili… Continue
