That's such a load of crap! LFA is NOT pornography! In fact, it's made of awesome! Those parents haven't even read the book, I bet. It really pisses me off when people say things controversial and they can barely back their opinion with valid information!

i had to read the "regeneration" trilogy by Pat Barker in grade 11. those had loads of decriptive sex scenes and most of them were between 2 men. still not pornographic.

It's absolutely ridiculous to think that LFA is pornographic. I'm reading it right now and, far from finding it inappropriate, it's one of the best YA books I've ever read. And I've read a lot of them. There's a lot to learn from Miles, Alaska, and the Colonel. I can't believe the closed-mindedness of some people. I'm disappointed in those who feel that LFA is not what young adults should be reading. There's a serious problem with censorship going on in America right now and that desperately needs to be fixed. I'm totally behind you, John.

After pouring over all the local news stories about this I could find, this was the most in-depth,

BUT IT HAS SPOILERS!!! DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK!!!!

(Here's the best part, where she gets pwned by one of the Truestees:
After the meeting, Trustee John Spencer asked Miller if she had read the book {I'm guessing she said, "no"}, stating he found it "a good coming of age story" adding, he read it cover to cover.

"You have to read it in context," Spencer told Miller. "Don't underestimate what your kids are going through.")

I can't believe one woman started all of this when her daughter isn't even in the class. In three years, all she had to do was not sign the consent form. Seriously.

Sorry John, I'll be working when they have the meeting, but I'll send a letter for you.
