Comment by Melanie on March 23, 2009 at 8:07pm: The white bread + butter + sprinkles thing is apparently common pretty much... everywhere but the US, it seems. But especially in Australia and New Zealand. It's called "Fairy Bread" in a lot of places, and often people specify it HAS TO be made using "hundreds and thousands"... that would be the tiny, tiny round many-colored sprinkles (hmm, wikipedia says their other name is "nonpareils", as opposed to the longer, stick-shaped sprinkles (regardless of color).
