Nerdfighters

Best Wishes from NL is made of awesome.

J. B. Dazen makes awesome songs like this one about things in his house using things in his house as instruments.

My Dutch publisher.

Jordan Sonnenblick.

Steve Kluger.

More footage from the Amsterdam nerdfighter gathering.

In which John celebrates an awesome week in the Netherlands while extolling the virtues of bitterballs, Dutch schools, and Amsterdam's public transport. He also butchers some Dutch words, because that's one of his things. Thanks to all the nerdfighters who made the Amsterdam gathering so amazing!

The white bread + butter + sprinkles thing is apparently common pretty much... everywhere but the US, it seems. But especially in Australia and New Zealand. It's called "Fairy Bread" in a lot of places, and often people specify it HAS TO be made using "hundreds and thousands"... that would be the tiny, tiny round many-colored sprinkles (hmm, wikipedia says their other name is "nonpareils", as opposed to the longer, stick-shaped sprinkles (regardless of color).

Oh John, you and your HackenShlaken...
I don't speak Dutch! I only speak a little German! Why?!
Drat me and my not Netherlandliness...

I've had white bread with those Netherlands-chocolate-sprinkles before.
I'm genuinely curious as to why the West hasn't caught on to this tasty phenomenon yet.

For those that want to see for themselves wether or not the Dutch version of Paper Towns is better:

At the Amsterdam Gathering last thursday I got John to sign a DUTCH copy of Paper Towns that I want to give to a unlucky Nerdfighter that wasn't there (or wasn't able to get anything signed).

So! Do you want it?

Drop me an email at iwantpapertowns@gmail.com of tweet me @turtlebulb. All names go into a metaphorical hat and I'll randomly pick a winner on April 10th. I'll send it to the winner the next day!

Spread the word! Oh, and good luck to those who enter!
