Nerdfighters

16-year-old Esther Earl, a huge inspiration to Nerdfighteria, died this morning. We will miss her so much.

You can read Esther's story and leave tributes in her honour here:
http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/estherearl/guestbook

The family have requested that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to either of the following:

“Friends of Esther”, a fund which will go to help Esther’s family with expenses incurred during her care. Write checks to: Friends of Esther; send to: Friends of Esther, 118 Billings Street, Quincy, MA 02171

or

"The Harry Potter Alliance". Send gifts to them at their web site: www.thehpalliance.org or mail gifts to: The HP Alliance, PO Box 441640, West Somerville MA 02144. Be sure to mark your gift as "for Esther" or "with Esther" so that they can use it for a project in her name. Thank you!

Rest in peace Esther.

The world suck levels just went down for johns birthday and all the french the llama goodness and now they just shot straight back up because we lost a great nerdfighter to worldsuck. I hope at least she got to enjoy it before she died, so she could have at least died happy.

Although I never saw her videos, I feel like I kind of knew her, all of nerdfighteria did. Thank you for giving us the gift of Ester Day, Ester, and I hope every day can be Ester Day from now on in nerdfighteria. If not that, Ester Day will become an official Nerdfighteria holiday, where we talk about love for our friends and our family. It should be just as big as Hanko de Mayo or John Day.

Hank should write a song for Ester, perhaps in the fashion of it all makes sense at the end, or goodbye 29 year old john, something that shows all nerdfighter how awesome she was.

Nerdfighteria lost someone very precious today. Esther will always be in our hearts and in our memories. Though I never met her, she touched my life and so many others. She will be dearly missed. DFTBA, all.

I have lit a candle for Esther. I think it'd be nice if others did too.
