Aside from the VlogBrothers and my ego (heh), Doctor Who is quintessential in the existence of Nerdfighters. I mean from the Forums to the Chat there is a very large chance someone is discussing the finer points of the show. As someone who watches it but does not delve too deeply into the inner workings I am intrigued to hear other people's opinions. Such as this review posted by someone on Tumblr of last week's episode: http://thehippestkidsintown.tumblr.com/post/10403225237/doctor-who-... .
Now we come to the season finale next week all eyes are on Matt Smith's incarnation of the Doctor as an intricate plot unfolds leading to his death.
At this point I want to open up the floor and ask "Who is the better Doctor?". David Tennant brought a charm like no other to the role of our favourite wayward Time Lord while Christopher Eccelston gave us a somewhat more rugged Doctor. Matt Smith is presenting us with a more flamboyant version. I would say you cannot pick an overall favourite because they each brought out a different side of the Doctor, but no doubt people will disagree!
Of course they say behind every great man is a great woman, and the Doctor is usually no exception to this. He has managed to get together an eclectic band of companions over the course of the six series, from Rose Tyler, to Amy Pond the companion has always been an integral part of the Whoverse. My personal favourite has to be Martha Jones simply because she was cheeky, and to me stood out more than simply a companion of the Doctor, more an equal in the series. I am likely to get shot down by Pond-fans but hey, everyone is entitled their opinion right?? (Except the Daleks, they are just mean!). That is not discounting Jack Harkness or Rory Williams of course, they too have made their mark in the Doctor;'s life.
Bringing up the subject of Jack Harkness, Torchwood has brought a much darker side of the Whoverse, highlighting the follies of Humanity as much as the aliens of the series. It too brought us another set of very different characters, but do they compare to those in Doctor Who?
So in honour of next week's finale I wish to find out your opinions on anything Who, from the best incarnation to the best companion, or the scariest Villain or the best thought out plot points. The point of this exercise is to determine who you guys rate most, or alternatively dislike the most. I will put together my findings and present them in a neat and tidy little blog next week before the show is due to air in the UK.
So comment below, send a message or discuss in the forum/chat, I'll be looking forward to hearing from you!
Thanks for Reading!
