Okay, first of all, Maureen Johnson, if you happen to read this, thank you so much for coming! It was such a big deal to so many of us. We’ve been looking forward to it for weeks- Nay, months.
To update anyone else, I just got home from school. I don’t know what time zone you’re in, but here, it’s after 6 o’clock. Why am I home so late? Because Maureen Johnson, graduate of my school, came to visit.
It was the most exciting thing in the world. I can’t stay still. Honestly, this may have truly trumped seeing Josh Groban in concert. I spent 8th period bouncing. My history teacher must think that I’m nuts. I spent the final test of the year looking at the clock and grinning like an idiot.
I wish that we’d thought to take pictures of all of the gifts before we gave them to her. They were really quite impressive. Everything was themed. Devlish cupcakes. 13 little blue envelopes. (I mean that literally, not as a title. We really did come up with 13 envelopes. Andrea even drew the pictures described in the book.) Postage boxes. Queen Ranavalona of Nerdfighteria, the puppy sized elephant. Demerits for forgetting to be awesome.
It was epic.
