So normally, I don't ask very much of you, but this is important. I need your help.
To put it succinctly, there are some serious issues with the chocolate industry. Impoverished people, in many cases young children, are exploited and often enslaved for the purpose of profit (off of chocolate-y goodness).
My sister, who is a brilliant young activist, wrote a petition challenging big chocolate corporations like Hersheys, Nestle (who is making progress but hasn't fully transitioned), Mars, and the Girl Scouts of America (for their use of chocolate in their products) to eradicate slavery and child labor from their production chain and meet the ethical standards of Fair Trade certification.
This is a really important issue, and it is truly ridiculous that slavery is even still around. Please join me and my sister in fighting this poisonous system by reading, signing, and sharing her petition (as widely as possible).

Also, if you want more information about this issue, I recommend looking up the documentary "The Dark Side of Chocolate". This link is also helpful: http://www.foodispower.org/slavery-chocolate/
Thank you so much for hearing me out, and hopefully signing!
