Apology

Hi! Remember me? I'm Senior Executive Ningmaster Tom. I'm supposed to be running this site. :D

In reality, I've been missing in action for a long time. I have hardly done anything ning-related in months, apart from occasionally banning a spammer, or responding to an e-mail. (And changing the banner. :þ)

But I should've been doing so. much. more. :|
(Including, but not limited to, essential tasks like selecting new Ningmasters. I do apologise to everyone who applied for that.)

Others have been slacking as well at times, but I cannot blame the people reporting to me for slacking in my absence.

Now I wish I could say I had a good excuse like a ton of school work, or getting hit by a car again. But frankly, I can't.
I mean, everyone has their problems, but I doubt my problems are any larger than yours.

I've let you down.
I've let my Ningmasters down.
For that, I owe you all a sincere apology.

But I can't keep going on this way. Something needs to change. Sure, I could make new year's resolutions, vow to be more involved with what's going on on the Ning. But chances are that I'd be back to neglecting my duties in a matter of months.

Now things will change; we'll be moving to a new website soon. That would probably result in an even larger workload and, knowing myself, I'm quite sure I wouldn't (be able to) keep up with it. Which is why that seems like a good opportunity for me to take a step back.

I've had a long run. In fact, tomorrow marks my fourth anniversary on this website. I was one of the first ten people to join. In February it'll have been three years since I was appointed as Ningmaster, and it's already been over two years since I became Senior Executive Ningmaster. I guess the time has come for me to try something a little different.

Now, just to be clear; I won't be leaving. I'll merely be handing over some responsibilities, and renew my efforts for the ones I am keeping. Exactly what I will be doing and won't be doing anymore isn't exactly set in stone yet, but I will probably handle public relations, so if you have a problem or a question, I'll try to help you out. :)

haha not getting hit with a car again... lol, oh Tom you are funny! I am sure no one will hold it against you, everyone needs a break now and then, this may be the break you have been waiting for, only time will tell.

Well, I'd say by wishing you had the excuse of getting knocked by a car again, is a clear sign of needing a break. No need for apologies, forcing yourself into something just makes ya come to resent it later on, and that's the last thing you want to happen.
