Nerdfighters

People will remember the Norway shooting and bombing from last year, they'll remember the countless innocents that lost their lives' because others intolerant, ignorant, brainwashed and most importantly - scared. What were they scared of you may find yourself asking, what by the great gods of old and new could force men to venture down such a path that sows on pain and blood? To try and answer this question, I'm going to talk Doctor who, bare with me here.

~ Such a 'lovely' little ball of hate ~

The Dalek hate difference, they hate all the beautiful variation in the world, the galaxy and all the love in the universe - yes, even atoms love-. They view existence much like a broken tool. Something to be cursed, battered, beaten and then thrown away if it still wont learn to work or play by its masters' rules. Why should the Dalek accommodate the lesser beings, why should they suffer imperfections such as love and joy? They understand beauty of course, hate for the difference, hate for thought and hate for all those that dare raise their hand in opposition. Dare you speak when there's a plunger-sucker aimed at your face? They wouldn't think so.

~ Coming to an election near you soon! ~

Yes, I can hear it already. The Dalek cannot be scared, to fear something is to commit to having emotions on at least some primal level of existence; and we all know that such beings devoid of everything that made them worth saving is all but gone. But, aren't they fearful of their own imperfection? They maniacally purge their own 'species', wiping out imperfection as they see fit. They  yearn for perfection, their entire existence now is to stride towards that one, simple but ultimate goal. By removing factors that could deal deadly blows to their egotistical plot of self-glorification, we're given free insight into their minds. They shun the difference not out of need, but out of fear for their own self-absorbed philosophy. All must fall to protect their purity. Heeelllo insecurity, how nice too meet you 'ere.

~ Suppose if I looked like ball face ~
~ I'd be a wee bit insecure as well ~

Going back to Anders Breivik we can see the same, hideous, ugly and frankly disgusting fear in his actions. He fears the difference, thus innocents should die to protect his warped sense of right and wrong; his idea of beauty. He's scared that his little world wont be in his vision that it shall be taken away and morphed into something foreign and only vaguely familiar. As we can learn from the Dalek, scum like Breivik cannot have that. There is nothing powerful, moving or beautiful in his actions. They're the result of bigoted ideals and themes he has gathered in his life and unleashed in one cloud of pure and utter hate driven fear gone wild.

People like Breivik will commit heinous and  dreadful crimes upon the world and upon the innocent to project their fear. If the others hold the same feelings, are they really the ones who need fret and fear the oncoming change - if there's even any that - whence it covers the land like a raging wave? They don't think so, but that's where they're wrong. For each and every horrible, pitiful and vile attack on the innocent. For each gun shot, stabbing or beating. We learn, we morph into a greater, stronger and more able people. Let the scum that is Breivik and Dalek try the people of the world, mean to stem the tide of change against their bigoted favour; but at each word more will change and tun against them.

With that said, I'll end with a question or two.

Do you believe Breivik can be linked or likened to the Dalek?
Am I wrong or right in regards to Dalek's being but scared bigot's?

What is your own view on the whole affair?

Or, to go drastically offtopic.
What'd you think of the opening of season seven?
No spoilers! V_V

First of all. Not all Daleks are evil. I mean, look at this little bugger. He's so cute.. Saying that atoms love, would that make Electrons the whores of the atomic universe? As for Breivik, I think that while he is similar in mind to a Dalek, wanting a perfect society, with his wishes being the basis, although his is on a smaller scale than the Daleks, in my opinion. Daleks being scared. Well.. We've seen Daleks show fear. Even seen them beg for mercy. It's not too far-fetched to assume that they'd be scared of bigots, if they have the power to enforce something to interrupt the schemes of said Daleks.

Crap... so now when I walk the streets I not only have to be scared whether my shadow will attack me, a statue will attack me, but a Dalek disguised as a human may now also attack me.....

Ain't life a bitch.

I think hes just bat-shit Crazy aha

There's methods and thoughts to the madness :P

I do struggle a bit to actually connect the terrorist with the daleks, inside my head, because when talking about the terrorist, all I feel is cold and the bitterness after what happened here. The daleks, on the other hand, though scary, are to surreal.

I've had a few people say so thus far. Generally because they don't like attaching such vile and disgusting people to a show they like or love. Totally understandable. Perhaps made a bit easier if one knows that the original concept behind the Dalek's wasa metaphorical example of the Nazi, them and all their Ayrian purity and the Daleks' with all their.. well, 'purity'.

Good article. You are very right about there being parallels between Breivik and the Daleks. The most the evil actions in this, and in the world of fiction, is done because of fear and intolerance.
