PLAY: The Matchmaker
SYNOPSIS: Many years after his wife has died, Mr. Vandergelder decides to take a new wife. To help him with this, he employed Dolly Gallagher Levi, a matchmaker. After they go to New York, Cornelius Hackl and Barnaby Tucker, Mr. Vandergelder's overworked employees, decide to go there too. When they almost run into Mr. Vandergelder, things get hectic.
FIRST LINE: "Yes, Mr. Vandergelder."
CHARACTER: Cornelius Hackl
OTHER COMMENTS: This was a fun play. While I do think that it would have been more fun to do Hello, Dolly! (the musical version of The Matchmaker), this play was still a lot of fun to do. Also, I got to work with Kyle (you may remember him from the picture in yesterday's blog). Kyle is a lot of fun to work with, partly because we are so much alike. It was a fun time.
Here's a picture from The Matchmaker. To the left is Kyle as Barnaby and the the right is me as Cornelius. Thanks for the picture goes to my friend Kyra, for taking it and posting it on Facebook (the last picture is from her, too). Thank you for allowing me to steal your pictures. :)
Have you heard of this play (or the musical)? If so, have you seen or been in it?
