Habitat for Humanity-DAY ONE!!

So. That was awesome. I loved it. I'm exhausted. I feel so GOOD.

My mother even said she's proud of me, & she is not a very expressive person when it comes to praising people. I think the last time she said that to me was when I was a freshman in highschool. Nice.

So I got there around 8 this morning, & started doing paint touch ups all over the house. I also sanded & painted window frames so the glass could finally be installed by more skilled individuals than myself. Then Mary Grace ( the girl in charge, who is super cool, by the way) had me build the shelves in the pantry. Hooray for power drills! But seriously, it was cool. & exciting. Like omggg this is someone's home & I'm helping MAKE their home. We finished this house today, & the lady is moving in with her 3 kids this evening, yay!! I got home around 1: 30 fairly busted up, but that's ok. My body will get used to such work :o)

God willing, we're starting another house from the ground up next Saturday. I can't wait. I feel so worthy. Like I'm not a waste of Life. It's such a trip. Everyone is really nice, & it's such a good thing to do. It's such a resonsible thing to do. It's a contribution to society that isn't vain or shallow or fiscal. It's hard work, & I like it. The lady who the house is for was so happy. She's been waiting six months, & her Home is finally ready.

I think that's the coolest thing ever. Making people, especially strangers, happy is awesome. Everyone should do something. It's good karma. I wanna volunteer at the local soup kitchen too. I did in middle school, & I don't know why I stopped. It was fun. The people who came in had the coolest stories, haha, & I felt like a good person. Ahh, I wanna do more for people. I cannot wait until I turn 18 this year..or maybe finish college..whenever they take me..Peace Corps! That's also something I've wanted to do since middle school..join the Peace Corps..& Doctors Without Borders after dental school. Everyone needs a toothbrush, eh? I'm excited about life right now, because I'm doing good things for others.
