Hurricane Irene? State of Emergency In My Town Due To Flooding? Kacki's Not In North Carolina?

Hey.

So, as many of you may know, Hurricane Irene hit the East Coast of the USA this weekend. When it hit my town in Northern New Jersey, it was either a category 1 or just a tropical storm (I don't really remember). The damage at my house/street was not bad at all. Just a flood basement (my basement floods when it gets cloudy) and some small branches. However, about 8 blocks away from my house there's a river,and it flooded. It's actually REALLY bad. My Mom, Dad and I walked all the way down one of the streets to see how bad it was. The Mayor of our town declared it a State of Emergency, and started evacuating people. They actually brought in boat, and various rescue squads. I'm pretty sure is really scary for those actually being affected by it. It got me thinking about what I would bring with me (other then some clothing, my Blackberry Curve, Blackberry Playbook, and one of my netbooks) if I was forced to evacuate my house because of natural disaster. I came up with a list of the top 3 items I own that pretty much mean the WORLD to me and that cannot be replaced.

They are:

1. My Baby Blanket my Grandma Ruth made for me when I was a baby - I still sleep with it.
2. My Light Blue Ty Elephant (The large version of the Elephant named Peanut) -Had it since I was about 3 years old
3. Pentagon Piece from 9/11 - I used to live right outside of Arlington, VA and my Friend's Dad was on the clean up crew after the Pentagon was it. 

I was actually supposed to go to North Carolina, which I mentioned in my first blog, but face it no one actually reads my blogs. However, the trip was cancelled due to the hurricane. I said I would start/complete a vlogging challenge because I want to start vlogging, but never really knew how. I think I'm still gonna do this, not quite sure. I'm actually apart of a collab vlog that might be starting up fairly soon.

 

So, I'm ranting now, and it's getting late.
