Nerdfighters

Becca

I quoted John Green at some Decepticon who called me a nerd!

"Saying 'You are a nerd' is like saying 'I see you'd rather be intelligent than be stupid, that you'd rather be thoughtful than be vapid, that you believe that there are more important things in this life than the arrest record of LIndsay Lohan." July 27th.

They didn't get it, of course, but my nerdfighter friends did, and really, when you answer back to people who try and make your day a little worse, you should never do it to try and illicit a positive reaction from them. Still, if you can take their oh-so-stinging counter-attacks of 'What the hell is she on about' and 'Weirdo!', then it can be quite funny to come up with interesting insults. If in doubt, just quote Shakespeare at people. :)

NERDFIGHTERS FTW!
DECEPTICONS FTL!

I'm usually just called a smart-ass. Of course since smart-ass has a separate definition than nerd in which it points out the contradictions or redundancy in someone's speech I never thought to use that quote. I think from now on I will. Haha Though it will probably make them think me a bigger smart-ass.

Absolutely. Nerd, weirdo, geek, smarty-pants, know-it-all, ect. Bring them on, I lavish in these (yes, even know it all) compliments. oh also, thought you might get a kick out of this one: (merriam webster's definition on nerd)

I love that quote. It's quite possibly the best use of parallel structure ever.

I did this an followed it up with an arguement to the Decepticon in question.
He couldn't talk afterward.
I felt extremely accomplished.

One of my favorite things about college is that the term 'nerd' became a compliment. What an incredible world it becomes when intelligence and happiness are the two most sought after attributes.
