Nerdfighters

I have never been able to read an iBook with the same intensity as a paper back.

It may be cliche but paper backs are like friends. As you read you can see the marks you're leaving behind (a turned in corner, a smudge in the text from where you've cried, a wrinkled spine from where the book has climaxed and brought you to such suspense that you can't help but curl the back pages over into a fist in your hand). Whereas when I read an iBook, as I go through, with the simulated turning of a page (who turns a page like that by the way) doesn't embody that emotion or tension I've felt as I read that page.

I know a lot of people can breeze through an iBook without a second thought to it, but I was curious as to whether anybody else shared my opinions. Or whether I'm just too pretentious and metaphorically inclined to appreciate modern technology.

Short blog entry I know, but it's late and I couldn't get my brain to shut up.

Any REAL book reader will hate ibooks, it's a shared feeling with all the world.

YESYESYES. Thank you! In a world monopolized by virtual things, I like the comfort of a regular old book, too.

I share your feeling. Paper books are WAY better. But I use the internet to read unpublished books as some of them are quite good. Nothing compares to paperback though.
