I'M GONNA DIE!!!

You know those wind things that collect energy from the wind? Well, xkcd had a comic about them a while back that I found mildly funny and then dismissed (link: http://xkcd.com/556/ ). I mean, never having seen the turbine things in real life I couldn't really relate.
However, on my drive back from Californialandness, I came across them. the only thing I could think was:
HOLY SHIT THOSE ARE SCARY.
I mean, way out there scary. I don't mean man-with-a-knife-chasing-you-down-a-dark-alley scary, I mean holy-shit-end-of-the-world-do-we-have-an-canned-food? scary.
Just look at them!

The picture doesn't quite capture the creepy. Imagine that you're driving down a quiet mountain road, and then BAM! There's a whole bunch of white things that look a hell of a lot like that tripods/war of the worlds shit. Now, they're not off in the distance or anything. They're RIGHT THERE. And I mean right there. Right up next to the road, spinning OVER the road, are slivers of big white DEATH.
