Images Not To Upload [Clive's Pet Peeves]

[Opinion alert! This blog contains a multiplicity of opinion and little hilarity, take my word for it.]

This is not your average bear image blog. I have been seeing far too many images that are  irrelevant, repetitive or simply annoying ; so I hope I can inform the masses as to the most appropriate images to upload, IE: Ones that aren't like the following.

 

Unless you have a topiary in the shape of an angler fish, I would really rather you didn't upload one hundred and forty-seven photos of your garden (or swimming team, holiday, pets, school friends...) no matter how amazing your photography is. Bear in mind that I am not discouraging uploading photos of the above examples, but rather the quantity of irrelevant [and irrelephant, unrelated to elephants] photos that are uploaded with names like D18A-65862. That reminds me, every time you use an appropriate name for your photos, a Ningmaster does not explode. [And you know how rare that is!]

Do you recognize this? If not, then you have obviously not been tunneling through the photos of the Ning as I have. This is and was a design for a tee-shirt from Tee-Fury.com. No, this isn't a ploy to make you buy shirts, this is simply a popular design that many people copied to their computers, only to upload it here, to be gazed upon by those few who pay attention to the photos section of this website. The same happens with many memes, comics and other such foolery. To put it briefly, creative content is best served... Original. [Or, if unavoidable, with the source cited.] I avoid non-original content in these blogs, but occasionally I find something so striking that even a reverse image search could not convince me not to feature it. [I doth declare that my nemesis is BULK UPLOADS!]

 

There are, of course, other annoying images, such as pages full of droll and unoriginal Twilight or Harry Potter icons, which are perfectly fine [or, at least forgivable] when used individually, but not when re-uploaded en mass. Or perhaps a determined individual believes that fifty boob-shots or shirtless pics might improve their chances of finding Nerdfighterlike. [It seems to me that such people do not understand the concept.]

 

On a lighter note, there is a vast quantity of original, nerdy content in the part of the Ning in which I virtually reside; hundreds of unique ideas, or presentations of ideas from the sources we love. Here are a few examples.

 

This minuscule pokéball was crocheted by hand (and hook) from scratch, now all you need is a tiny pokémon to go inside! }8¬P 

 

 

 

 

Constructed in a game I regularly enjoy, this pixel-art replica of the Pizza John Green image was made entirely out of cubes placed individually. I am not surprised that it took so long!

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is [I am surprised to say] not a sketch, it is however, an excellent graphic that was made completely without a visual aid. Quite frankly, I am astounded.
