Israel's Invasion of Gaza Discussed--While Willy Cutes It Up

In which John talks about Israel and Palestine, and the Israel's recent invasion of the Gaza Strip in response to rocket attacks from Hamas. Obviously no four-minute video can do the topic justice; we'll continue the conversation in comments, hopefully with some thoughtfulness and empathy.

One thing that John fails to mention (obviously due to time constraints), is that the two state plan proposed in 1948 by the UN, which would have created two independent states and an international Jerusalem, was accepted by Israel, but was rejected by Palestinians and the Arab League as unacceptable. Moreover, inasmuch as the Arab League claimed to represent the best interest of the Palestinians, No Arab state came to aid of the Palestinian people in their time of need. Had the proposal been accepted and implemented by Arabs as effectively as by Jews, then we might not be at this problematic juncture.

In all my life I would have never expected Israel and Palestine to be combined with Willy and argile socks. Very nice video John. As always, a more interesting teacher than the state hires for me. Not that those aren't amazing.

My sister is leaving in a few weeks to study for a semester in Israel. She's going to be staying in a small kibbutz right outside of Jerusalem. Even though they're not allowed to be anywhere near the dangerous areas, I'm still pretty worried. Thanks John for making me feel better about the situation over there. Bubbles the Nerdfighting puppy is up there with Spaghetti Cat, making serious issues feel less threatening. You're awesome.
