LOOKING FOR NEW NINGMASTERS! (And a special Friday video on a Saturday)

Senior Executive Ningmaster¹. I like that title. :) I just hope I can live up to the expectation.
Some of you have noticed that it's been over six months since the Ningmasters were appointed. And you may remember that the original idea was to replace (at least some) Ningmasters every three months. But, as John pointed out in the video above, they have been "failing so epicly"² at stuff. That's why they decided to offer me the position of Senior Executive Ningmaster. Basically, Hank and John are outsourcing some work. That's also partly what the Ningmasters was about³. This way I keep the Ning running, and they can focus on making videos without having to worry about the Ning all the time. That doesn't mean they'll be less involved with the Ning, though. If anything, it'll meant they'll be more involved with the Ning. Instead of having to go through everything themselves, I'll just keep them informed about what's going on around here. Hopefully this will make the Ning even more awesome!

The first part in all this is something I can't do alone. I need your help. We need new Ningmasters.
The current Ningmasters have been doing a great job, but I think it's time for them to retire and leave the Ning over to the next generation of Ningmasters. So I'm looking for new Ningmasters to help me with the Ning.

Here's what I'll be looking for. Or better, what I think we should be looking for:

-Forum Ningmasters: We need people to moderate the forums. Getting rid of duplicate and spam topics, removing hateful and/or racist comments, etc, as well as featuring and blogging about awesome stuff that's going on in the forums is all your job. We'll probably take two people for the forums.

-Images Ningmaster: My former job :) You go through the images on the Ning and find some good ones. Since I've already been through all the archives, it might sometimes prove difficult to find new ones, so you can also go through the archives and refeature old featured images. You blog about pictures once a week.

-Video Ningmaster: You're in charge of Nerdfighter projects. You find awesome videos (both on the Ning and on Youtube) and you feature them in a blog post. We will also require your help with cleaning up the NF Projects page, because it's a mess.

-Chat Ningmasters: Appears to be a very simple job, but can be deceiving. You need to be present in the chat most of the times. Being able to withstand some verbal abuse from trolls is a plus.

-Wiki Ningmaster: A new position I'm introducing. You may have noticed that the wiki app here on the Ning is... horrible, frankly. We'll soon get rid of that and once we get the actual wiki back, we'll need someone who knows how wiki's work to keep an eye out.

-Books Ningmaster: You have the important job of trying to keep the blurbing book club running. John will help you with that. Between discussions of books, you can also feature book reviews or talk about book-related news.

-Blogs Ningmaster: You go through the blogs and feature the awesome stuff. I figured that I could do this when I'm not doing anything else, but if you desperately want to do this, don't hesitate to apply.

-??? Ningmaster: Maybe we could use another Ningmaster? You tell me what you want to be. Do you have a banana suit and don't you mind videotaping yourself doing silly things in it?⁴ Or do you really like to draw and want Nerdfighters to order you what to draw?⁵ Maybe you just want to take stupid challenges from the Nerdfighters and complete them? It' doesn't matter. Apply for anything you think we need a Ningmaster for. (But keep it realistic; it has to be something the Nerdfighters will like.⁶)

All Ningmasters will also do general stuff: Answering questions from Nerdfighters, remove spam, ban obvious spammers& trolls (The number of banned people went up a few thousand percent over the last six months, don't bother trying to do better :D), etc.
Remember that with great power comes great responsibility.

Do You want to be a Ningmaster? Here's what you should do:

1)Decide what kind of Ningmaster you want to be. Feel free to apply for more than one category of Ningmaster.
2)Write a blog post about why you think you would make a good Ningmaster.

If you don't want to be Ningmaster but you want recommend some of your friends, please do so. You can leave positive comments on their application blog. Note that we don't want to turn this into a popularity contest, we want to find dedicated, trustworthy people.

I think that's all for now. A big thank you to the current Ningmasters for all the work they've done. Hopefully they can keep doing they're job just a little bit longer while we look for new Ningmasters, and I hope they can assist me in that search.

¹John said Senior Executive Nerdfighter, but that's a title I already had. Oldschool Nerdfighters know that lots of people hold that title and probably have/had it themselves. :)

⁴If you're wondering about what happened to Ningmaster Benny and his banana suit, his mom threw his banana suit away, I think. I believe he acquired a new suit afterward, though, so I'm not sure what kept him from making videos with it.
