My two cents (Yes, even though pennies are dumb and shouldn't exist) and why I still like Chick-fil-a.

Everyone’s heard about the the whole Chick-fil-a thing and people are still talking about it. I’m going to start off by saying that I’m totally not a homophobe, anti-gay, or anything of the sort. I have a bunch of awesome homosexual and bisexual friends. My point is that we all know that Chick-fil-a is a business founded on Christian values, they close every Sunday in case anyone hadn’t noticed, and everyone is either dumb or unobservant to freak out about their stance on same sex marriage. Honestly people, what did you think he was going to say? Not only does he have the constitutional right to say that, he also has a right to believe in his faith, just like anyone else has a right not to believe that same aspect of his religion. He didn’t say, “We are going to stop hiring homosexuals to work in our restaurants and we are no longer going to serve them either.” That would have been legitimate cause for uproar. What he actually said wasn’t.

While I share the same Christian beliefs that a ”marriage’ is between a man and woman (the idea of a marriage is that it is a spiritual and faith-based union of a man and a woman, as well as legal one), I’m not at all against a legal union between same sex individuals. If they want to change their name, adopt, buy property, have medical rights, share a bank account, by all means, allow it! In the state of Florida, it’s illegal for a same sex couple to adopt children. That’s ridiculous! While I understand that people stand firm in their faith, as do I, there is a way that we can have a solution that maintains out morals and beliefs without restricting and discriminating against others.
