Not Your Regularly Scheduled Blog Post

Hello Nerdfighters!

Now I know that I usually take my blog posts to discuss what's going on inside people's blogs and I will continue this next week for you. However, this week I want to take a blog post to discuss the Ning. Specifically the Nerdfighter Ning. There are a small number of you who are active on a daily basis. There are some of you who check once a week. There are some of you who signed up and haven't checked here since.

So this is what I am hoping you will do for us and by us, I mean everyone at the Ning.

I hope you will take the time and leave your thoughts about this Ning as it is right now. Perhaps you could answer the following questions:

How often do you go on the ning?
If you don't go often, why don't you go on the ning?
What drew you to the ning to begin with?
When did you stop coming?

I check in almost everyday to see if something happened or listen to someone's profile music. But I only stay on for about 10 minuntes.

When I got really busy with other sites and forgot.

the first week I joined I would come on like every day, but since then it's gone down a lot.

What do you think the problems are with the ning right now?
maybe it should be easier to find groups and people who have things in common with you instead of searching through groups and trying to join the conversations already in progress in the chat.

more projects that everyone can be apart of that I'd have to check back everyday.

My schedule is very irregular, so it's hard to say, but no less often than once a week

It is a quirkier and more sophisticated distraction that so many other things I could do when I need a few minutes to remind myself that there are other things out there than just my self-absorbing issues

probably nothing - it just takes time for it to become self-sustaining with a critical mass of people

If you don't go often, why don't you go on the ning? I sometimes don't feel nerdfightery enough.

When did you stop coming? Haven't stopped. Hoping not to.
What do you think the problems are with the ning right now? It's hard to know what topics to comment on, like is there an established protocol? The last thing I want to do is get flamed or ignored for replying to someone who asked a question. It's also hard to know what new topics will be accepted or just ignored. I usually feel fairly nerdfightery, but I'm a little older than most - at least I think so - and I worry that I might not be as cool as I 'd like to think I am.
Is there anything that can be done to improve it's current state? One thing that I think might help is a simple addition to the intro, explaining that Nerdfighters are not fighting against nerds. I have referred several people over here and they never got past the first paragraph. Not that it's off-putting, it just might help to explain the term.
What would you like to see on here? Information articles, though I'm not sure what I exactly mean. Right now, I'm doing the NaNoWriMo. An article about publishing books might be very nice. Or a link to a blog of someone who writes about that. Or something. How about more stuff. More tee shirt designs, and mouse pads and stuff like that. I used to run a cafepress site and sold tons of that kind of stuff. Very easy to do.
Do you have any ideas for things that could draw nerdfighters back here? Contests. Challenges. Nerdfighter featurettes. Some kind of group charity effort.

like you said, there's just not an overabundance of new posts or content. Also, college is kicking my rear right now, and I'm trying (yet failing miserably) to focus on English Literature.
