First off, I can't believe I'm reading Catcher in the Rye again. I swore to myself in the 8th grade, after having to read it for advanced academics classes at the high school I was going to attend, that I would NEVER read that book again.
I couldn't get into it, it just seemed to drag on and basically, I wanted to stab myself in the foot with a flaming bow and arrow to forget the pain that was J.D Salinger's novel.
Recently, I had been craving to read it again. My mom gave away my original copy of it to this shelter in my hometown that always accepts books donations for the people living there. I couldn't mad at her for doing that so I went out and bought another copy.
I'm not very far into it (Holden just left old Spencer's house, at the very beginning) but I'm really liking it. I don't know, I wasn't much of a reader in 8th grade- ESPECIALLY when I was told to read it. That year, I also had to read The Iliad and a few other books that were pretty boring. But now that I'm back into reading, I'm really enjoying it so far.
On to another note, the Secret Project. If I recall, it's on the 17th.
I'm hoping this project doesn't involve a lot of work because my pre-op for my surgery is on the 17th and my actual surgery is on the 21st. I just recently became a Nerdfighter this summer and I'm not sure how the whole idea of the Project works out but I really really REALLY want to participate. I hope this works in my favor.
It's late- finals are around the corner and it is kicking my butt. First semester of college is almost over and I'm looking forward to next semester. So I'm off to bed.
