Nerdfighters

In which John reads from the J. D. Salinger novel The Catcher in the Rye in tribute to Salinger, who died yesterday at the age of 91. Having done so, John now immediately returns to paternity leave. Like all novelists who write about teenagers, he owes an immense debt to Salinger--not only because of Holden Caulfield but also because of the hauntingly beautiful portraits of the Glass family.

Thank you all for your kind wishes for young Henry, who is made of awesome.

I'm very upset about Salinger. But I'm also really upset that John doesn't wear the nerd glasses anymore. The old videos just reminded me of how awesome they were, just this video reminded me of Salingers awesomeness. Oh parallels.

:( I feel as if the characters he created have died too. The Catcher in the Rye is insanely important to me. Thanks for the awesome video, John.

Oh wow John looks tired.
It seems that some great people are just dropping like flies. This has to be the worst though...
