Earlier today I was surfing the web about ways to help our soldiers and past ways people have done so. I tripped (gracefully) over this article:
"Joseph Macri of Westfield, a junior at Oratory Prep School, has announced that he is running a book drive for American soldiers overseas."- http://www.thealternativepress.com/article.asp?news=3218
I always knew that soldiers had a lot of down time, but what I did not know was that one of their favorite things to receive in care packets was books. My uncle, ex-army, says book are worth there weight in gold when you have hours of time and nothing to do. My next few thought went a little like this:
What do nerdfighters love?
Book!
What do nerdfighters hate?
Boredom?
What do nerdfighers do?
Help people!
And this kind of thing combines all that. Now while I could not find any current book drives for such a thing, I really don't see that as a problem.
So what I am saying boils down to if there is anyone else interesting in helping me in starting something like this?
