Well, I don't have a clever opening for this so I'm just going to dive right in.

I'm getting gastric bypass surgery on December 21st. If you don't know the hairy details about it, go Google it; I'll wait...

Okay! Great. Some of the major changes that will affect me after this surgey is no carbonated drinks ever (not a big change for me- I'm more of a tea and water person) and no alcoholic beverages, like ever.

Basically, if I were to drink any kind of alcohol it would destory my liver and I can't have that- I need my liver.
My parents came to me with a proposal- they would let me drink my choice of an alcoholic beverage before my surgery. This is kind of a big deal since I'm 18 and I won't be able to celebrate my 21st birthday like every other person does.

My dad said I should drink beer but beer stinks and I don't want to drink it. Only one drink popped into my head: Strawberry Hill! Yeah, I've heard it tastes awful but I won't be able to wait until I'm 21to find out.

So, until next weekend, I have a bottle of Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill sitting in my pantry. I'm having my best friend and hetero life mate come over to enjoy this with me because we won't be able to drink together when we get older.

As my surgery date gets closer, I get more and more anxious but I know it's going to be for the better so this Strawberry Hill will be like the final thing I do before getting a life altering surgery. So wish me luck!
