Tagging sucks

...if you didn't do it initially. I started going backwards to add tags to my blog posts when I realized I should have had "politics" in a lot of them and didn't. I suddenly noticed discovered there is an "add tags" option, so I thought I could do that instead of going to the edit screen again for each one. Then I went back again to add another to one of the posts, and, sad pandas, realized that if you use that option, it gets rid of any previous tags. So I'm basically at square one again. G'damnit. That's just annoying. That's just silly. That's just messed up. That's just a lot of things. Which means it isn't "just" anything, it's a whole lotta somethings.

I blame this on my inherent inability to interact with technology in a sound and sane and informed fashion. The title of my main page is quite fitting, and makes for a story that exemplifies and parallels this one: when I was making my profile, I spent about ten minutes trying to find an option for changing its title on the page where you fill in your information, and, for the life of me (read: in all of my patheticness), I just couldn't figure the bloody thing out. I don't remember exactly how, but just as I was about to give up, I simply hovered the mouse over the appropriate spot on the screen by accident and PRESTO, the cursor changed from the arrow to the little line indicating you can type. In homage to that revelation, I named my page after it. I still don't think I can come up with a better title, anyway, so thus it remains to this day.

Oh well. Done ranting about it. Time for bed, I give up for now. But I'll tag this one, first.

I will say this, though: that's something I believe should be changed with how the blogs work. Seriously, using the "add tags" options should do just that: add them. In its current state, it functions more like a "replace tags" option. I know there is then an "edit tags" option, but that only pops up if you don't refresh after clicking "add tags." You can't do anything in the "edit tags" option without getting rid of any previous ones, so the only way to REALLY "add" tags is to go to the page for editing the whole post. Bummer!
