Hi there
I am writing this at a quarter past midnight. So if this review seems a bit bad or/ and contains terrible grammar mistakes or weirdly structured sentences, I'm sorry.
The reason why I'm up so late is because was reading. I was reading the name of the star by Maureen Johnson. I always liked Maureen s' books. But I always was like: well yes, she's really good, but it are only YA romance books. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE LOVE those books, but they're just you know chick- lits. And we all know that they don't really have a good reputation. I get why, I mean some of the romance books are just over the top and not in a good, funny way. By writing The name of the star Maureen proves that she can writes several genres of books.
So what I like about this book is the setting: a boarding school in London. I love London and I love boarding schools, so I love that.
The protagonist of this book is Rory and I just love her; she's smart, brave, kind, loving, she's everything a good main character should be. Than you have Jazza (fun fact, I just kept reading Pizza instead of Jazza for some reason, so in my mind she's called Pizza} first they're really close, but than in the middle of the story, when something happens (I'm not going to tell you what, because if I do I spoil a part of the story and my reviews are always without spoilers (and if there are spoilers I'll put a HUDGE disclaimer , I promise}. But that's a nice twist to the story and thing change and... just read it!
I love the fact that this story has ghosts, because all paranormal books these days are all about vampires and werewolves and to be honest, if I see one more book like Vampire academy I think I might just puke. This book has some romance, but it defiantly isn't the main thing in the book. It's just like thin extra storyline. i really like that, I'm just not a big fan of YA paranormal romance books (yes, that's an actual genre}
I could ramble on about how awesome the book is, but I'm not going to, because honestly, i don't really know how to review it without giving any spoilers away and also it's late.
I give this book 5/5 stars. I'm defiantly going to re-read it before the sequel comes out in 2013. I just cannot wait to read it.
Keep reading,
X Luna
