You know, Jared Knight was right about these little 3x5 cards. They really are interesting to do. I watch them happening and this sort of lexicon developing and I have no idea where it's all coming from. I don't think they really look like the rest of the stuff I do but maybe the shapes are similar. The limitations of just the black sharpie on the white card makes you do the dots and stripes thing, or makes ME do that. Somebody else might do complex cross-hatch shading or something. I've tried very hard to keep them non-representational. And as I'm doing them I'm trying to throw in lines or shapes that I don't think will belong just to see if I can then make it work. It's really fun. And then afterward when I look at them, titles present themselves, or ideas of things will pop forward. I seem to have done a couple of madonnas or saints. And some are landscape looking. I'm really digging this. And each one takes about 3 minutes. None over 5. Some of them I think really hold up as coherent little artworks. I'm gonna stick some favorites up here.
I think one should be my Thanksgiving card this year (even though I don't do Thanksgiving cards).

The rest I'll put in COMMENTS.
