I know it has been several years since the last blurbing book club selection and that makes everyone sad. But never fear, I am starting it up again and I really hope that Nerdfighteria will get behind this again. I want to see lots of nerdfighters reading, discussing the book and of course leaving their blurbs on the discussion forum thread! Official Discussion for Every Day by David Levithan This is the forum thread you need!
So without any further ado - for November, I have chosen Every Day by David Levithan. David Levithan is the author of many incredible books including Boy Meets Boy, Love Is the Higher Law, The Lover's Dictionary and many more. He has also co-authored books with Rachel Cohn (like Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist) Andrea Cremer (Invisibility) and ... you may have heard of it? John Green with Will Grayson, Will Grayson. His latest book published in the US (and hopefully here in the UK soon) is Two Boys Kissing.
I picked Every Day for November's book club selection for three main reasons.
1) because I'm hoping it will be widely available seeing as how it's been published for several months already. Check in any good book store or library.
2) I think most nerdfighters will recognise David Levithan's name and will be excited to take part in the book club in November!
3) And, most importantly, I have chosen this book because I love the themes of the book. It raises lots of interesting questions about gender and sexuality and if love is enough to get past certain obstacles.
Want to know more about the book? Here is David Levithan himself introducing Every Day and reading a short extract from the beginning of the book.
So, Nerdfighters. I issue you with this challenge. Read Every Day by David Levithan. Discussthe book on the forum and blurb it. I want to hear all of your thoughts!
