Oh Nerdfighters, I had such grand plans to document all the stages of wedding planning when we first got engaged, you know, the day that John Green called me and I had no pants on, but life has intervened.
Plus, when we first got engaged, we are all "Aw, I love you," and "Oh, thank you so much for the lovely diamond ring," and now it's more like "Get back on your side of the bed!" and "Well, YOUR side is not the MIDDLE," and "Stop getting my clothes all wet!" and "Stop leaving your clothes on the bathroom floor!" and all of that kind of normal stuff.
But anyway! Wedding this have happened, and I'm ready to update you, Nerdfighters!
1. A date has been set, and a location has been picked! I had to go out to my hometown for 2 weeks to visit numerous location options and might have had a nervous breakdown somewhere in there, especially when we chose a place, and I came home, and we (we being my mother and myself) immediately changed our minds once I was all the way on the other side of the country. Anyway, since this is the Internet, I can only tell you either the date OR the location, not both, so I will tell you the date, as it is excellently nerdy: MOLE DAY, 2010. That would be October 23rd, for those of you who are not chemistry types.
2. Colors and a wedding party have mostly been picked. Sort of. My sister will be the Maid of Honor (Maid of Awesome? Made of Awesome? That will have to be hammered out by the time I have to write up programs, which totally isn't right now, so I refuse to think about it right now), and Phil's friend Oscar will be his best man. Our friends Dan and Michelle will also be in the wedding party, as will my brother and a cousin. And... maybe someone else. Or maybe not. I can't be bothered to get all hyperventalately about uneven sides, you know?
3. The first dance song has been decided! (In theory. The wedding is a year away. I could change my mind a lot.) (Change "could" to "will.") I can't embed it, but you can see it here:

4. That's pretty much all, but I feel relatively accomplished. I mean, I have a place. I've got some people. I picked some colors. Aside from that, it all just falls into place, right?
... Right?
Oh, and my mother is convinced that John Green will totally not come to my wedding, but she said it all delicately, like she was crushing my dreams, and I felt all lame when I had to say, "HE SAID HE WOULD IF HE COULD."
So now my mom thinks I'm a big lame. So there's that.
