Here's a thing that irks me: People who think that all teenagers are FAR too inexperienced and haven't developed enough judgement to fall in love. While this is very true for several teenagers, it is so far from the truth with others it's laughable. How can you possibly know what you're talking about unless you've experienced it? Well, that's the question that I want to ask. Show me your points, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that no teenager could ever legitimately fall in love.

And I don't mean stupid crushes or anything. I said "love" and I meant it.

no one can prove an emotion, especially one so enigmatic as love. as a person in the end of his teenage years, i know that i have experienced real love, and i have thought i was experiencing it and then it turned out that i was really wrong. of course no one can prove to you that teenagers cant fall in love, and i think that the ability to is irrelevant. the real question is "should teenagers fall in love?"
now that is a question worth asking, and one that i dont really have an answer for. i can tell you that it certainly can be fun, but also time consuming and inoppurtune.

to prove absolutes is impossible. you and I both know that. however, I will argue (not prove) that many western teenagers are not mentally mature enough to fully understand their own emotions enough to separate love from infatuation or a "crush" as it were. part of that is because we, as society, do not treat teenagers as adults, do not ask them to make mature decisions, and thus, they are never forced to grow up. if you take my meaning. this does not cover everyone, but it does cover many or even most in our culture.
