Whatever you want to write that's short-story-length is fine, Anna. As long as it's fictional, and not directly autobiographical or in some other way fundamentally factual. hehe It's gotta be made up, though whether originally by you or originally by someone else is up to you.
...I suppose I should update my blog about life in general...I haven't done that for a while...doot de doo.
Thanks to you for being so flexible and enthusiastic all the way along.
You're awesome, Anna, and I look forward to regular literary output in cahoots with you.
I know how it is to have your computer randomly undo a whole busload of work you've just completed (and completed perfectly, too!). It's happened to me many times. Hug!
I'll keep you in the loop in a blog entry in the next couple weeks. How's that sound? :^P
At the moment I'd better just respond to your message and keep going with other random things I have to do.
So, yeah. I'm glad you like the short story-writing idea. I think it'll work better. Plus, a month is a LOT more feasible than a week for writing something half-way decent, you know? This way, we've got a good amount of time to think and ponder and imagine and plan, and THEN write things down, and edit/revise, too. If we want. haha We're not looking to publish just yet, though. heh heh So it's all good. But yeah.
As of the writing of this message, we've got twenty days (pretty much nineteen, since tomorrow's already the sixth) until we meet our first (haha, as if it were our first) deadline. I'm excited. I feel like this time I'll actually be able to pull off something coherent-ish and of a quality I wouldn't mind sharing with a like-minded person such as yourself.
Thanks for sticking with me through all these false starts of ours, Anna.
Hmmm....I just realized I made up the recent proposal for a new arrangement otu of my own desire to write short stories. But you could work out your own plan for whatever you want to write, as long as it's more or less equivalent to the amount of writing/effort/though one summons to write a short story, you know?
Whatever you want. I don't mean to shove you into a genre you'd rather not do.
But short stories are my favorite; you, my friend, can write whatever you want.
Sorry if it seemed like I was pushing the short story on you. I didn't mean to be.
hia thanks for joining the nfmovie group. I'm sure being a theatre nerd you'll be perticualy good to ahve on board! Got to get around everyone to say thank you so I'll just say thanks again and go now. DFTBA
I'll still recuperate my stuff I've recently missed by tomorrow (Saturday) midnight, but that's just 'cause I'm hard on myself.
The real rules-oriented shebang doesn't start until Monday, so if you're a bit behind in posting, no worries. We'll start fresh on Monday, with those fresh new rules.
...I'm wondering if you've ever written a sonnet before. They can be quite tricky. ...Do you know what iambic pentameter is? I barely knew when I was your age. :^P
Well, I'm gonna go fall asleep. It's really tired over here, and I'm late. I mean...you know what I mean.
*yawns a big fat yawn*
Hugs and m0000t for BlogWis,
Nate
PS: I do wish you the very very best with all of your crazy busy-ness, my friend. May the force be with you, and may the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house. Here's a hug for all that stress. You're a trooper. HUUUUG!!!
Hmmmm.... I forgot to post a blog entry yesterday, and I feel guilty about it.
I propose we nail down some rules for this project, to provide just a hint of structure. Here's my thinking on the matter. Yours is extremely welcome, as well:
1. Each of us is to write something at least every other weekday according to the following pattern: boy on odd day, girl on even. We both get weekends off.
2. We are not required to post every single day we write, but if we don't have the appropriate number--or nature--of posts for our corresponding days up by midnight on Saturday, at the end of the week containing the days in question, we are to be punished as stated in Rule 4.
3. From the acceptance of these rules 'til the end of the project, each post must consist of at least ten sentences that are fictional (or ten lines that are poetic) in nature, and not simply factual prose.
4. The punishment consists of one true-to-form sonnet or ten haiku per day's writing that is missed.
5. Sonnets may follow any traditional sonnet rhyme scheme, but they must be within what is generally accepted as iambic pentameter, and they must be between fourteen and eighteen lines long.
6. Haiku must be three lines long, with the following pattern of syllables: 5 syllables in the first line, 7 syllables in the second line, 5 syllables in the third line.
....I think that about covers it. I tried to state things as clearly as possible to avoid ambiguity, which might've mad things less than normal-sounding. haha Let me know if there's anything you don't understand. I just came up with these off the top of my head. Yeah, I took a Law class once. hahaha
I don't mean to be quite so picky, but it does seem to me to be a good idea that as long as we're doing this back-and-forth thing, we might as well *try* to keep it straight the general sequence of these puppies, you know?
And I suppose I should say right now, that thought don't know how long you're wanting to do this for, but over the summer, I'm not sure how much internet access I'll have, you know? I might be able to post things only once a week, or a little less often than that, we'll just have to see. But I'll do all I can to still post the appropriate amount of things, as in, one per odd weekday, regardless of when I'm actually able to post them, you know? :^)
So, yeah.
And that's super sweet about all the Phantom stuffs. That sounds awesome. XD I'm kind of jealous. :^) There's nothing I can think of that I'm that into like that, except Tibet... I LOVE Tibet. And summer camp.... XD But no like cultural phenomenon that I dig that deeply. hehe
Oh, and I've never seen anything but a Milwaukee Theatre Production or something like that, which was awesome, but it was in Middle School, (I mean, when I was in middle school, the actors were all grown-up, haha), so I don't remember very much about it. To give you an idea of how much of a geezer I am, I was in middle school in the late nineties....that was ten years ago! :-O I DO feel rather old when I put it like that. haha
XP
Well, I'm gonna go eat dinner and do dishes and maybe clean my room a bit, and then hopefully write some friction (fresh fiction), 'cause today's my day. bwahaha
In my example of the labeling system, I mis-spoke. I didn't mean that yours should be called BlogWis the Ninth, but rather BlogWis the Eighth. BlogWis the Ninth is what will fall to me today. BlogWis the Tenth is yours to write tomorrow. Hope that makes sense.
Let me know if I've confused you too badly. Sorry.
I don't know if you care, but I noticed that you and I don't have the same labeling system for our BlogWis writing entries. I've numbered mine individually, according to the order in which I've published them on here. So the first entry I wrote was BlogWis the First: (Insert Specific Title Here).
My last one is BlogWis the Seventh: (Insert Specific Title Here). Your most recent BlogWis entry is Blog Wis: May 10th, which sort of wrecks the pattern. haha
Like I said, don't know if you care. I don't even care all that much, but I DO think it would be sweet to have some sort of coherent, consistent labeling system, so we can tell from looking at either of our blogs where the individual entries are in the chronology of it, you know? I mean, if I look at your blog entries a month from now, I oughta be able to easily tell which came first, and know from looking at yours how they relate to the order of mine, if that makes sense.
Let me give you an example: Mine are so far numbered one through seven, that is BlogWis the First through BlogWis the Seventh. In keeping with that pattern, yours "ought" to be called not BlogWis May 10th, but BlogWis the Ninth. BlogWis the Tenth will fall to me, today. :^P
I hope that makes sense. This is just one idea. Blog titles are changeable, so if you feel like it, let me know what you think. I do think it would be schnazzy and handy and cool to have a coherent labeling system, so that years from now posterity will have an easier time seeing the progress of our little project. ...'Cause it matters so much to posterity... :^P
So, yeah. Considering how much I've written on this topic of labelling, and how detailed I've gotten, perhaps I care more than I originally thought. XD
Let me know what you want to do about this. I would appreciate some sort of coherent system, but I'm open to new ideas, too. So, yeah. Keep on writing, writing buddy!!! XD XD XD Great to see what you've written so far. I look forward with eagerness to seeing what is yet to come in this adventure we have ahead of us. :^)
