Hey! I just use thick leather strips and hand sew them together with a thick thread (leaving the ends though) then you cut the ends so they are rounded and it looks neater and holepunch holes in the end of the strap, i usually do several holes all close together to make it bigger then reinforce the hole with some more thread otherwise it stretches and tears and then sew the rounded ends up. You have to make sure it the right length to start with because i dont add any plastic things that make it adjustable, et voila! You can use material but i use leather (or fake leather) because it stronger (: hope this helps!
