Hey, thanks for the advice, and I have considered the points you brought up.
Don't worry, though. The five days a week, lifting, is going to be split between different sections of my body. Though the majority of my time will focus on upper torso (shoulders, arms, and chest), I intend to spend quite a bit of time on abs, back, butt and legs as well. And the cardio I intend to do is just sustainment. Sculpting your body is useless if you have no stamina, in my opinion. So, I figured on running a mile a day.
I will, however, talk to your son, as you recommended. I'm very interested in learning more about this subject. The few guys that I know that do work out are cage fighters, not trainers. That being said, they focus on reps, where I will be focusing on max weight.
When I was about 6 or 7 my family went to england on holiday, to Cornwall...and I fell in love with it, so last year when I was 18, I decided to move there.
