Wow lucky you, my teachers actually read our essays, makes it much more difficult, we do have one teacher that will only read the first and last paragraph and blank everything imbetween, I've managed to copy and paste 2 A4 pages of forms of torture imbetween the paragraphs when it was an essay on the social implications of HCI, lazy teachers are one of lifes little joys.
Unfortunatly for me I can't multitask, if I ever listen to music and do an essay I realise that I've just written down all the lyrics to Tom Jones - Sex Bomb, and most of my teachers frown upon the word sex popping up every fee seconds in an ICT essay.

poetry you say? well i have never really written a "good " poem but i spose my talents are more around visual art. but i can very much appreciate a good poem (like simon cowell of the poetry world)
