Oh, I would not mind at all of the style of dress came back into fashion. It would be the best thing to ever happen to me! I think I'd go bonkers, haha.
Um, I'd have to say that the medieval era is my favorite, but if I had to go back in time, I'd go back to the 19th century. I always feel the need to make that distinction, haha. Just because I'm a medievalist doesn't mean I'm willing to put up with the malarky of the time period with the exception of the Ren Faire and Medieval Times. But for both, my region would have to be Britain. It's just my favorite place I've ever been. I just read through your answers as well and they're fantastic!

Mine's only once a year :< but it lasts for a solid month and a half-ish, so that's good. But, being able to devour turkey legs in one hand and downing mead in the other only once every 365 days makes me grumpy.

D: You poor thing! To be honest, ren faire is better in a way, but for when ren faire isn't around, medieval times is like a two hour paradise.
That said, I'm in the final week of my postgrad, and final week = exams! Had one today, another every day this week. Doing a bit of PA revision right now, listening to music and being on the Ning. =D
(Oh, since you're here, take a listen to this new cover of 'Wherever You Will Go' - great stuff.)
MP stands for Member of Parliament. When a general election is called, each area or 'seat' elects an MP. For example, in my 'seat' - Brentwood & Ongar - we elected Eric Pickles as our MP. He is a member of the Conservative Party (ie, David Cameron's lot!)
Whichever party has the most MPs voted in during a general election comes to power in the House of Commons...unless they don't have the majority in The House of Commons. At our last election, the Conservatives gained the most MPs, but they didn't have a majority over Labour, the Liberal Democrats and the other parties.
When this happens, a coalition may be formed between two parties; right now, our Government is a coalition between the Conservative party (Cameron) and the Liberal Democrats (Deputy PM Nick Clegg's party).
So, the British voting system in a nutshell...hmm...
Well, people seem to care a lot less in the UK - which is a damn shame, since American elections look like great fun to me. =) I guess when Americans vote, your candidates have personality. It's BARAK OBAMA for the Democrats, or RON PAUL for the Republicans. You vote for the party, but also for the man.
In the UK, we only really vote for a party; there is no great build up, or any great personality to rally behind. The leaders themselves just come with the party.
In fact, it's worth noting that no one in the UK voted for David Cameron. Each seat elects their MP every four years, and whichever party gets the most MPs leads the government. The leader of that party then gets to become PM.
So yeah...no real big Obama-type figures in our politics. Maybe that is why people are so apathetic about voting here. =(
ok so can have some back story on your book. and are you asking for the pics for reference or for illustration in your book? and who are the people i am drawing? are they on a ship , a space ship? are they robots cyborgs or human? steam punk? fire fly-ish? startrek-ish?
