Yeah, one of the hottest guys at my high school, a school without sports of its own, was on his homeschool's swim team. Oh my goodness, I still get butterflies thinking of that guy's body, and that was four years ago. He was like a Greco-Roman god or something. Adonis in the flesh. ::swoon::

Man, I don't know what I'd do with a sport. I remember being in orchestra and seeing kids have to take time off because they got carpal tunnel in their hands/wrists (although some played through it). That never happened to me, thank goodness. Did the doctors say taking the time off would make it go away completely?

I saw that you're twelve, but I thought maybe you had skipped some grades or something because, yeah, you seem quite mature. Alas, I think you're about the youngest Nerdfighter I know of. But that's alright, ageism isn't something I am a proponent of if the person can demonstrate that they can handle themselves properly. I mean, ok, I have gotten into some disputes where I had to bring up the person's young age on very important topics to me, but I was basing it more on life experience as opposed to age- someone ten, fifteen years older than the kid that hadn't experienced it would have been just as blind to what I was saying as him.

Speaking of Michael Phelps, have you seen him in the Guitar Hero commercial? Totally funny and adorable. He's like a teddy bear- a rather FIRM one, but I just want to squeeze him until he bursts. ;)

I actually never had private lessons because we couldn't afford them, but I was good enough to always be in the first stand- even in high school and up against people that had been playing four or more years longer and that practiced ten or more hours more than me each week. That was another reason they didn't like me in high school- I didn't have to work nearly as hard, and I was more casual about it. Are there any city-wide orchestras or groups you could join to be around people more at your skill level?

I wasn't there to become a professional cellist, and that pissed a lot of people off. I became disillusioned by my senior year and had to put it aside for a while. But I went away to college, and the cost of getting my cello back and forth along with that of paying for private lessons (a requirement to be in the orchestra) made it too difficult to afford, so I haven't touched it since high school. I miss it, though.

Are you in a school orchestra?
