I totally work in a used bookstore! There is a book that you NEED to read before you do it, though. My bosses have been in business for almost 20 years, and they owe a huge thanks. I can't remember the exact title, but it's a bright yellow cover. I'll get the details for you. I, too, haven't read the last Fablehaven book. My two friends who read the series with me have been nagging, but... You know.

It was a good trilogy. I liked the heck out of it. Definitely check out the last book. (I don't remember things very well after two months, but...) It involved a kid who'd disappeared on a mountain, and there are these... I think they were called gifts. Curses. I wish I knew anything about what I was talking about.

Hi! Thank you for friending me! (That sounded like a bot.) I see we share many favorite authors. (Dunno what my profile says, but I say we DO.) I forget the trilogy(?) that I read by Jenny Nimmo, but I adored it. Charlie Bone is sitting on my shelf somewhere in the queue of things to be read. If you are looking for things to read, I bet you would like Fablehaven by Brandon Mull.

Also, you and my friend Alice (if she were on the ning) would get along really well. She's just finishing up her Asian studies major. But I think she wants to be a translator for people and not books. *shrug* Either is important.

Yeah, unfortunately I haven't read any of hers in a long time -- I've been getting into more realistic fiction, which is where I found John Green, which is where I found nerdfighters. But yes, I do remember that Diana Wynne Jones is excellent regardless :)

Well, yeah, the plot probably is lacking compared to a book, even though yes, Miyazaki makes gorgeous films.
Oh nice, it sucks when that happens! Diana Wynne Jones is a masterful author though.

Hey, no, it wasn't weird :) It is indeed Howl! I love the movie, saw that one first, so naturally I thought the book was way different from the movie. If I'd read the book first I probably would have preferred the book like I usually do with these situations, but unfortunately I didn't know it had been a book when I watched the movie :/
