Hi! Thanks for accepting my friend request! I'd say I'm new to the Ning, but I'm not exactly 'new' to the Ning, I've just never been active. Anyways, I saw that you were also from Indiana. That's awesome! =]
wow, your whole back? i luckily have a c curve so i only need to get about T10-L3 fused
my degree is 50 or 56
i was told both, so its around there
it got about 10 degrees worse in a month so it was a pretty big surprise when i got told last week i need surgery
im going to film a lot of the surgery procedure and after and such
because i cant find anyone who did that. i mostly find blogs that pretty much say "i had surgery" but dont go into detail about how they felt, how bad the pain was, or if they can bend
yeah im putting the surgery off til december because i have band from august to november and musical from september to december
and im glad i did because i dont want to be in a brace again over the summer (i used to wear a boston brace, now im in a spinecor which was correcting me and holding my curve until about a month or 2 ago)
but one doctor told me i wont be in a brace
so i dont know if i will or not
and i was told that i will be able to go back to school 2-6 weeks after the surgery
so im most likely stayng out for 6 weeks
im hoping to get the surgery around december 9th and staying out of school until around january 20th
which would mean i cant be in the one act play (if your school does the one act play competions, then you know what im talking about)
can you still twist? like, can you get your shoulders at a 90 degree angle or perpendicular to your hips?
can you bend side ways? like bending left and right
how far forward can you bend? or can you only bend at the hips?
can you bend back at all? not like a complete backbend, i cant even do that now
did you get a bone graph? or something like it, but not?
one doctor told me about fusing but its not a bone graph. he didnt go into detail so im not sure exactly what he meant
ill ask him more questions when i go back in august
or did you get like a fake bone type thing to fuse your spine? another doctor told me something about that
i also heard a bone graph is excruciatingly painfull. so if you got that, how bad was it?
were you in pain before the surgery?
my back pretty much hurts constantly
sometimes reeeeally badly
so im looking forward to not being in pain
how bad did your back hurt after the surgery and how long did it take for it to feel normal?
how much taller did you get? im 5'9" so im hoping i wont get much taller
can you feel the rods when you touch tour back?
can you feel them on your spine?
does it sometimes hurt even today?
if its cold out, will the rods get cold?
if its hot will the rods get hot?
or do they always stay the same temperature as your body?
is the scar really bad and incredibly noticable?
are the rods visible if someone is just looking at your back?
do you have flat back or do you still have the natural curve of your back?
i think that those are all my questions :)
and im going to check out that site now
Hey we seem to actually have a lot in common...right down to our favorite thing to put on our heads lol I'm an old theater nerd but sadly never got into it in college

Yes, that was me in Indianapolis! Did you say sister salad for the camera? If so, you're in one of our videos... :-)
