How to avoid being a jerk: don't tell someone you're going to call them back unless you know you will, mistakes happen but if you know full well that you'll probably forget then just don't commit. If you tell someone you'll call them back and then don't, you might end up looking like a jerk. I'm not saying you're a jerk if you make mistakes, that's not it at all. I'm just saying.

Oh, here's a fun fact
The human brain is not fully developed until around age 25.
