Are there any other Twilight haters out there???

Obviously, I hate Twilight. Everyone seems to love it so much, and I don't understand! Am I the only one?


EDIT- I didn't check this thread for a few days and it exploded. If any Twilight lovers are here just to flame us, please go away. Everyone of course is entitled to their own opinion, and if you want to agree or disagree respectfully, welcome.

Have you read "The Host" by her? It is very different from the Twilight series and I enjoyed it much much more. It's a bit more "sci-fi" than Twilight for sure, but I think it's great. Although, if her first person writing style annoys you, this one might as well...though it's sort of in a roundabout way told from 2 points of view. Admittedly I am a fan of the "Twilight" series...but if you're looking for a good read, check it out.

What is The Host about? Ive heard a lot about it, and am thinking about reading it. No, the first person writing style itself doesn't bother me, it's more that the person who's voice its told in bothers me immensely. In any case, thanks a lot for the suggestion!

Basically, it's about an alien race of "souls" that have taken over earth by invading human bodies and living the humans life, basically. They're a super peaceful and advanced race so no one really notices that they're taking over. One soul named Wanderer is put into someones body, but the woman who's body she has, isn't gone and communicates to Wanderer leading her to a group of humans who are still human.

I don't know if that's the best summary...but the book really makes you sit and think about who you are as a person.

I didn't think there was anyone else in the world that hated twilight besides me. It's hard to see during twilight because there aren't the usual shoadows and I find twilight to just be depressing or something. Can't put my finger on it. I hate Sundays too and always have.

I thought I was the only one who doesn't like Twilight! It's weird, because I knew about Stephenie Meyer before the book even came out, and I was so excited for the first and second book, and then I stopped liking it. The thing that really bugs me is the relationship between Edward and Bella. I mean, they feel as if they'll die without each other! That's so unhealthy and pathetic.

The thing that gets me about it all is the whole Jacob aspect of the Edward and Bella relationship. If she's that in love with him why would she have feelings for someone else? That just seems kinda fishy to me.

I know what you mean. Somehow, thinking their relationship is shallow and unhealthy translates to being a "dumbass whoos just jealous cuz edwards hot and ther love is beautiful." I'm not saying everyone who loves the book is like that, but I sure hate it when they are.

I feel that way, too. That's probably part of the reason that I like Jacob more. Edward and Bella's relationship is just way too dramatic to me.

I've never read it but I have prefectly good reasons to despies* it...
A) Vampire romance. Tell me one story where this is different... Where all the vampires dont go after the girl "Because she has sexy blood."
B) I see every high schooler and her sister raving about it and how much I should read it, yatta yatta is the best. Its just so annoying so that I'm completely turned off...
C) The Writerium says that "Sure, it's a Romeo and Juliet romance story. With teen drama. (ectra) With vampires. And werewolves.
The whole vampire vrs werewolves is really an unnessacary element..." (Ah, crap I forgot what its called. Really nice article too. ;_; Shoulda been helpful...)

But anyway~
