What Kind of Nerdfighter Are You?
Doctor Who, Math and Physics, Book, Musics, Goofy Dancing, and Other Sundry Genres
About Me:
I'm on the "older" side at almost 30. I've been married to an awesome nerdfighter man for over 6 years and have 3 kids, ages 5 1/2, 4 and 20 mos

I love nerdfighters because they remind me of my awesome friends in college

I ADORE reading! My mom is a librarian and my dad an avid reader. Summer time is lie flat on my back with a book time and has been since I was 10 years old.

I love math! I offer to tutor people just so I can do it more often. I still carry my TI-85 with me when I go shopping.

My favorite shows growing up were Newton's Apple and This Old House. I majored in physics in college because of all the cool stuff you can do and my house is in constant renovation.

I researched Sprites (an atmospheric phenomenon associated with lightning storms occurring in the Midwest, Brazil, Japan, and other places), Spritehalos, and Elves as an undergraduate.

The worst thing about living in a place where it doesn't rain very much is that I don't get to watch lightning storms very often.
Favorite Books
Harry Potter
A Wrinkle in Time
Twilight series
most Dickens
Little Women
Lord of the Rings
Chronicles of Narnia
Sideways Stories From Wayside School and Holes
A lot of YA books
any Jane Austen
The Foundation series by Isaac Asimov
What's your favoite thing to put on your head?
a book, shampoo
If you could do your happy dance with anyone who would it be with?
my kids and husband, the "Jones Clan"
When did you start watching B20
August

I've read a lot in 2008

I get into ruts. Sometimes the rut is baking cookies: I bake cookies every day for a week or two. Sometimes it's watching TV. Well, it's TV on DVD since I don't get reception, I don't pay for cable, and the dish attached to my house was blown off in a major wind storm (not that I paid for dish either). The DVD's get me into more of a rut because I'll watch one season of M*A*S*H in just one day. The past couple of months it has been reading. Not just reading, but mostly YA books. They are the on… Continue

13 Little Blue Envelopes--I blurbed!

It teems with awkwardness and nostalgia yet yields enlightenment.

I've been meaning to post for a while so I might as well start with this one

There was a time in my life (like first grade) when I would have avoided getting tagged it at all cost. Now I'm positively delighted! So--some things about me:

1: I loved the story problems in math growing up. You know the problems that everyone hates. So when I got into my first physics class in high school, I was elated because it was ALL story problems.

2: I love England although I've only visited once. British TV has been a huge influence on my life (Doctor Who, The Good L… Continue

And the lucky people I've tagged are . . .

Zoe: because I like the name and her dress caught my eye

Caroline: because I grew up near SLC

Jess: because I have turtles (actually desert tortoises, but all tortoises are turtles) and I liked the turtle picture

Mosaic (Linda): because I love mosaics and my mum's name is Linda

yellowsubmarine: because . . . isn't that one obvious? Totally jokes Beatles song.

I wish I could've tagged my baby sis (sqirrelyTONKS) but that would have required some textua… Continue

MJ mentioned in the back of the book that she was trying to strip away the familiar bit by bit. Start with a country that is unfamiliar, but at least speaks the language...end with the loss of her back pack. So the one time she was in a vaguely familiar place (with the Knaps) she also was able to shower and clean her cloths. Then she was back to stripping off the familiar and layering on the dirt and grime.

You are totally right about Richard being the the safe haven for both of the girls, but they weren't able to see it right away because it was so unfamiliar. For Peg because he was "normal" and for Ginny because he was a stranger...so was the bath tub. Little did she know when she met the strange tub/Richard how much it would mean to her.

It has been a long time since I over thought about book. Thanks
