Today has been a rather interesting day for me. It has been a day full of pondering, sadness, beauty, and love.
Now that is quite the combination.
The Pondering: I was walking around with my boyfriend Stephen at an antique mall and as I was looking at everything I started to think what do I love? I know that there are a whole lot of things that I really like to do such as read, sing, and dance around like a fool but I really could…

Well the past month has definitely been rather interesting for me. I shall start with the bad: I spent a lot of time being upset over Mark and my break up. The good: I have been spending a lot of time with a childhood friend whom has really helped me tie up the loose ends and deal with the mental pain. The ugly: some of my friends feel abandoned because I’ve been spending a lot of time with Stephen...…

So my last few days in SK were pretty good. Mom and I went swimming two more times in the mineral springs pool and it was lovely :) We also went into Saskatoon and walked around. It was nice and I love how in SK a big city is the equivalent of Cambridge here in ON. Out west the pace of life is much slower and less hectic than here. Speaking of hectic Thursday was quite a day for me...…

The past week has been interesting for me. I finished up my Body Talk course and I loved it so much! I really can’t wait to become a certified practitioner so that I can start practicing :) I want to changes peoples lives for the better. On Tuesday I went into Guelph and had a wonderful lunch with an old friend whom I haven’t seen in a long time. It was really nice to see Jessie and catch up with her! When I got home I went for a…

Jennie Rae Urban said… Um, the link didn't work...it just took me to a larger version of the picture. It's a very nice picture, though!
Congrats on finishing NaNo! It's a great feeling, eh? I remember last year feeling an intense feeling of disbelief and thinking "Is this real? There's NO way that I just wrote 50 000 words in 26 days."
Are you excited for Christmas, yet? I'm very excited for Christmas. I'm going to see the Muppets Movie on the 24th with two of my best friends and the guy, if all goes according to plan at New Year's, I will soon be dating. I'm also having a bunch of people (the same three plus two I believe) coming up to my apartment for New Years. Gonna be totally awesome! I plan on getting trashed, just because I can and I believe everyone should at least once in their life and I haven't yet. What are your plans?
I shall leave you with a picture of my best friend and I that she draw in MS Paint forever ago. It was to fill out on of those Nerdfighter meme quiz things on DeviantArt. This is our relationship: I am bossing someone around and she is being cute.
Anyway, gotta go eat breakfast and study and stuff,
DFTBA,

Jennie Rae Urban said… I am a little bit jealous of your tattoo. Someday there will be a very similar tattoo on my body, but not until I am no longer relying on my parents for at least a little bit of financial aid. Where is it? I can tell that it's on an appendage, but I can't tell which one :P
The greatest thing just happened to me! So, I was in the bathroom at school, waiting for a friend of mine (who is not a Nerdfighter) and there was another girl in there as well, and we were just sort of chatting about how we don't have time for personal hygiene (because who does, this time of year?!) and she asked me if I am a Nerdfighter! Apparently along with the other one in my year, there are two in third year. I just made a facebook page for Ottawa Nerdfighters, and we're going to the movies on Friday, so I invited her (I don't actually know her name, oops!) but she said she's busy. But I am very excited about it :)
Did you finish your novel? I know I didn't - I never made it past 1735 words. I never had a chance, what with papers and relationship drama and everything. I wonder if Mike finished his novel? (No, it doesn't matter. We are not talking. We will at some point, though, I need my book back!)
And a picture. I'm pretty sure I've sent you a picture of my niece before, but babies grow and get cuter, so I'm going to send you another. This one is actually a couple months old, but it's just the cutest thing ever!
That's Emily and her mommy, shortly after she learned to laugh :) I can't wait 'til Christmas to see her again!

Jennie Rae Urban said… Thanks for that song. I've been having a really hard few days, so that was quite helpful.
It finally got cold here! Last year, we had snow on the ground at Hallowe'en, and now it's almost the end of November and we've had, like, one snow flurry. But it's been below zero for the last day or two, and we're supposed to get snow tonight. Hopefully it'll stick! My room mate and I decorated our apartment for Christmas a could weeks ago, and last weekend I got my mommy to buy me a little mini Christmas tree and ornaments (it cost, like, five bucks, lights and ornaments included! What a steal!) and so our apartment is so cheery and cozy and cute :) It's nice to sit in the living room and do my art history readings, now. Only, I only have a couple days' worth of reading left, and then I have to move on to my religion readings, which is going to suck :(
Good for you on NaNo! I did day one...and then gave up :P Life got busy, and I broke up with Mike, which was hard and then I didn't feel like writing anymore. I did pull out the novel I was working on in the summer, yesterday, and I'm going to continue working on that. I'm realizing just HOW MUCH needs to be added to make it a proper novel, and when this draft is finished, it's going to be about 160 pages at least. This is such a daunting task! But I've sort of figured out what I want to do with it, and what sort of issues I want to deal with and stuff, and I really want to get this published. Keep an eye out for a book with my name on it in the next couple of years!
Anyway, I SHOULD be doing homework before I go to my hip hop class, so I shall leave you with this picture I took of my Christmas tree. I am particularly proud of it.

Jennie Rae Urban said… Lordie, it's been a while again since I replied. My apologies. Life and stuff, you know?
I was, indeed, the one who broke up with him. And it sucks, but it was the right thing to do, so I take comfort in that fact and try not to let the rest bother me. Easier said than done, of course, especially knowing that I hurt him a lot and he won't even acknowledge me now. But, this too shall pass.
Funny story, actually. I used to be terrified of butterflies! I'm still a little squeamish about moths, but I can handle them. But yeah, that picture makes me happy, just because you look so happy. I like to see happy people, it makes me happy :)
Here is a picture that my friend made for me of me as a pony from My Little Pony. I am a brony and proud of it. Stop judging me :P
It's the Christmas version. The normal one doesn't have the scarf or hat or little cape thing. I particularly like the cutie mark and the glasses :)

Jennie Rae Urban said… Hey, sorry it took so long to respond. I've had a rough week. Broke up with my boyfriend on Monday.
But other than that, things are pretty okay around here. I'm SUPER behind on schoolwork, though :(
I scored the single room because my bed and stuff was already in there, because we took the apartment over from my sister and her room mate, and I took the bed over from my sister. Not that there's any difference in rent, we decided just to split it down the middle. Thanks God, though, we'll only be living here 'til April. If you ever move to Ottawa, don't get an apartment at the Prince of Wales complex. It's a very bad idea. I think that this building is more ghetto than the ones right at Jane and Finch. I think it's more ghetto than those cheap municipally funded neighbourhoods. Bad idea to live here. Rent's not too bad, though, considering how close we are to school. The most major problem with the location is that I have to walk past my ex's (wow, that's weird...never had an ex before) house to get to the bus to downtown.
Anyway, I slept in, so I really need to get my butt in gear and get breakfast and these retainers out of my mouth so I can hopefully still make it to school on time.

Jennie Rae Urban said… Gah! VidCon! So jealous...it will be many many years before I can afford to go to VidCon.
I quite enjoyed your cleaning video. I like how you have many of the same things as me - knitting stuff, a ukulele, Harry Potter DVDs (I think I saw those...), etc. I'm jealous of your costume stuff! And your large closet. That looked amazing.
I thought that my tiny chickens might have been returning today, but it turned out okay, they weren't tiny chickens after all. I can almost sing again. When I can sing again (and I no longer have sores on my lips), I know that I am better :)
My entire apartment has actually been documented, although it looks quite different now, since about half of the stuff that used to be in there has since been moved out, and Lisa and I now have much more of our own furniture. http://www.youtube.com/user/AVeryCharmingVlog#p/u/76/3usnMfJbzeg I just rewatched that video, and man! I have DEFINITELY lost weight, and I am very glad. So that was a nice confidence boost :)
Anyway, that's all the time I have for today :P

Jennie Rae Urban said… So, I'm pretty sure that you have the most awesome bedroom ever. And a pretty great boyfriend, too, by the sounds of it :P
You know what I hate? I hate being sick. I lost my voice on Saturday afternoon (I had to whisper until Monday morning, I've never lost it so completely) and I'm just now almost back to normal. I'm not feeling too kindly toward the Tiny Chickens right now, although I'm glad that they've mostly all moved out.
I'm one step closer to getting to go to Belgium :D All that remains is to find references (which won't be hard, my profs mostly all love me) and apply and figure out finances. And then I pack up my stuff at the end of the summer and buy a plane ticket and head out to Belgium! How cool is that?!?
Ehhh...I'd better head back to Ancient Greece and continue hanging out with Socrates and Glaucon and the rest, because I have to have all ten books of the Republic read for Wednesday and I'm only on book four. And I almost forgot to find you a picture, so I shall hunt one down and then go back to my reading :)
I think that Ed is the sexiest. I claimed him. They're all just so accurate!
One last thing. You always send me pictures of your life and stuff, which I really like. I just don't take pictures, so I send you things I find on teh interwebz. I hope you don't mind :)

Jennie Rae Urban said… Hey :) Honestly, I've been so busy that I have sort of been neglecting the internet. So I forgive you :)
School is going well. I love all my classes except Italian, which is a necessary evil, because I need a second year language credit to graduate. I was talking to one of my professors the other day, and I might be heading to Leuven, Belgium next year! I can get all the courses required for a minor in philosophy there, and tuition is dirt cheap, apparently. The only thing is that I don't have the prerequisites, but I might be able to take them over the summer. How great is that!!
Yeah, things have been worked out with my room mate. We're, like, best friends again, which is good.
How are things with Mr Stephen? Looks like they're going well ^.^ Actually, surprisingly enough, I also have a boyfriend now. I know, weird, eh? His name is Michael, and we met at our writing workshop class this summer. It's weird - kissing is actually fun. I never thought it would be :P
Anyway, I have lots to do today before I work at 3, so I'll have to find a picture for you and cut this short.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one :)

Jennie Rae Urban said… Busy busy busy. I also work 7-3 most days, which is nice and steady, but since I am not a huge fan of my job, I can't wait for school to start again. But all is well, I suppose, on that front.
The room mate, front, however, is not so grand. I have almost made the decision to move out at the beginning of September before school starts. Everything about her sort of bothers me and we can't spend time together and everything just blew up. I'm just afraid that I'm going to be running away from my problems instead of fixing them, but I really don't want to work on things, which sort of makes me a terrible person. There's nothing really from that friendship that I want to save, and I don't know how to convey that to her. I have another potential room mate with a potential apartment to move into, and rent and stuff has all been figured out. How do you tell someone who considers you one of their best friends that you're not interested in being their friend? Right now, I can't do both. I can't be her friend and be her room mate, it just can't happen.
Anyway, she just came in, so I'd better finish this up and navigate away from this page. I shall talk to you more later.
