- About Me:
- I'm a college student (a junior) majoring in Mathematical Biology at Harvey Mudd College. I absolutely love biology and I also really like math, so I love the fact that I can study both. I love differential equations, even when they get challenging. I'm okay with proofs, though I wish I were more able to think in a proof-y way. I adore labs (even when they take five hours) and I do find that I enjoy doing the biological part of my major more than the math, sometimes. I'm really interested in infectious diseases and microbiology, not to mention epidemiology (which is the study of the spread of diseases) so you should talk to be me if you get really excited (perhaps inappropriately so) about smallpox, prion diseases, or any other thing involving bio or math or anything science-y (I might give you a blank stare if you talk about higher chemistry or physics, though).
On a more humanities related side, I'm a ballet geek. I started dancing when I was either 9 or 10, did all throughout high school, had to stop because of a math class I was taking that conflicted... but I've never really stopped. I'm taking dance classes in college (or trying to fit it in my schedule so that I can) and I'm finding that I really like the theory side of it. I've taken a history of western dance course (whee) and I'm going to be taking Laban Movement Analysis in the fall (I have no idea what that will be like...). So yay dance! (I'm going to try to get a dance minor...)
Hm. I love books and reading and poetry and words in general. I like too many authors to choose one favorite...
I love Doctor Who. And Sherlock. So basically, Steven Moffat tries to kill me a lot.
I also love Harry Potter and that world. And Narnia. And Middle Earth.
Erm... I can't think of anything else at the moment...

In terms of authors: I'm currently a fan of Georgette Heyer, Neil Gaiman, Susanna Clarke, Eva Ibbotson, J.R.R. Tolkien, J.K. Rowling, Jane Austen, Jim Butcher, Mercedes Lackey, C.S. Lewis, Charles Williams, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Edgar Allan Poe ... and more
I also really like poetry. I'm working on memorizing the Raven. Also, I enjoy Shakespeare (most of the time), Francis Ledwidge, and other poets that fluctuate.
Movies: I like random movies every once in a while.
Music: classic rock (especially Kansas and Styx), classical, soundtrack, indie, jazz... random things
