Here are a few more pics. This took five hours, 6 bottles of paint, 24 hot glue sticks,10 paper bags and one fake leaf garland cut up. Oh, and my Spock ears!!

Book Character Day!!!

Today at my son's school all the 1st and 2nd graders dressed up as their favorite book character. It's a fun day that helps promote reading and recalling skills. Each child had to come up with clues to help the class guess what he/she were dressed as. It had to be a secret till today. I think this is a great idea and since I put sooooo much time on this costume (this was the 1st time my son really wanted to go all out, so I did too) I wanted to see if you could guess who he is.

2. Awesome! I love sharing things I love with the little ones. To tell you truth I can't remember when I read them HP & the PS in its entirety...I had read them some short passages when they were about 4 (skipping any bits with murder and other ugly stuff). Maybe 6-ish for the whole thing? Or a tad younger. As soon as they had the attention span, and didn't mind the scary bits. We are still working on LotR...Aragorn is just about to take the Paths of the Dead. OooooooOOOooooo...
3. Summer is good. We have had a couple of quiet weeks, which we all needed so badly. The DH's foot is healing up nicely (he had broken it at the end of June), and I am feeling better than I have in ages, what with the iron and all (notwithstanding all the "bloody hell" issues, of course ;) This week the boys have been at a Zoo day camp, and it has been hectic. The camp is 40 minutes away, not counting traffic, Elliot busted his front tooth on a metal drinking bottle, and Liam is wilting in the heat (he gets sun sick really, really quickly). But they love the animals, so it's all worth it. Next week will be another quiet one, then the DH has some holidays. We had planned a big road trip to Alberta, lots of hiking and outdoors in the mountains type stuff, but his foot isn't up for it yet, so we'll be doing a smaller trip to my mom's and some fun local stuff. Then it's gong to be almost time for school again! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! But I will be like Scarlett, and not think about that yet. ("I can't think about that right now. If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about that tomorrow.")

I saw Wandering Confused's comment that he sent you his address on April 30th and in my mind that was when Senpa went into the post. But that was probably when he hit the high seas (the piratepic). I'm so glad. I was SURE we'd lost him. (You know one of these days we will -- we must prepare ouselves.) It's like how I always say I'm a year older than I am at the decade marks. I was 30 when I was really 29, 40 when I was really 39 etc. I hate to be surprised! Hope you had a good time!

We're OK. Doing that tired out, can't wait for summer, end of the school year thing...and there's still 5 weeks to go!!!! Waah! But we're all well. Painting, reading, being nerdy...the usual. :)
