88水災關愛行動 (8 August disaster relief)

Within hours, a whole village in the indigenous Taiwan is gone. Just gone. For those who don't know, here is the news.

The song was written after 1991 disaster in China. On 17 August 2009, this song was sang again to collect donation for relief for Taiwan.

There's this girl at my college who is in my ethics discussion class, and she's said she is strong atheist. I see her eating by herself a lot at lunch, and she always seems really lonely and I want to invite her to sit with me and my friends at lunch. The problem is that most of my friends and me are Christian, and I don't want her to feel like I'm trying to suck her into "the Christian group" or anything, and I definitely don't want her to feel uncomfortable. She just seems like a nice person and I'm tired of seeing her sit by herself every day. Would it be bad form for me to invite her to sit with us?

Have you seen that Fforde's got a new book coming out that's separate from Thursday Next and Nursery Crime, it's about a world where people can only see certain colours, which sounds very interesting.
