Gosh, it's been a while

So I am trying to make a video, but I need to delete a lot of old information on my computer or get a removable hard drive or something to free up space on my computer. I also need to stop doing so many things so that I can free up my life. ON that note, I am happy to report that I was elected by my college band director to be an honorary member of the National Band Association. That makes me excited because I like paying money to be in groups like that. That's why I am a Mu Phi Epsilon member,… Continue

In which Michael confuses vlogbrothers videos with LOTR

I am not sure if this is a sign of my nerdfighterocity or lack thereof, but I have a story to tell. Not more than five minutes ago, I was sitting in my dorm working on my sophomore jury lesson stuff, and my roommate was listening to music from his computer. The music was this beautiful orchestral work, that was very modern, and very "American" so to speak. After a minute or two, of listening, the familiar melody resonated in my head, and I was wondering, "I know this, but what is it?" I was… Continue

World Suck

I am wondering, is the definition of suck a lack of awesome? How does one define suck, and what exactly is used to measure suck? I ask this because I am a Mac using nerdfighter, and I have the world suck widget on my dashboard (which doesn't seem to be working right now 'cause the world suck levels are higher than my widget indicates), but I do not know what other than suicide is used to measure it. (That is not mean at all to take a jab at LittleMissKit whose death seems to have to the online… Continue

Blogging for motivation

I was told by my writing professor last year that when he has a writing deadline, that he procrastinates most of the time. I do the same thing. I do not have any deadlines looming over my head aside from a write-up due on Wednesday, but I would like to get a fair amount of my homework done tonight because I do not have anything better to do and I would like to be productive with my time. That is not happening right now. I could talk about my having spent way too much time this morning watching… Continue

Gah I have been so neglectful of the Ning of late!

In answer to your thoughtful question, the school year is going fine. I have an math teacher who has no idea what she's talking about, which is full of suck. I have an English teacher who has no idea what she's talking about and hates me, which sucks worse.

But band is going well, and that always helps. And I have a History teacher who really pulls me out of any funk I happen to be in.

But how have you been? I'm definitely going to make an effort to be online more often. :)

Well, I'm free pretty much any day and time due to the whole not having a job situation, I'm just not very good at responding to people in a timely fashion apparently (sorry about that). So, let me know!

I'm actually not a fan of drinking either. I've only been to NPCC for breakfast or lunch, so there generally aren't people drinking then. I've never been to Garfield Espresso and Bagel, but I'd be willing to try someplace new!

Guess where I was yesterday! It made me think of our lack of plans for hanging out. We should do that. At NPCC! ...I've been looking for a good excuse to go buy a smoothie from there, and this seems like a VERY good excuse! :)

I suppose you are right...people wouldn't realize that we Texans do take our band seriously. My grandmother taught high school drama and she said that all elective teachers lived in fear of the band director and that TMEA was the trump card that won over everything.
And you're right. It's about attitude. Whenever we're at competition we always cheer loudest for this little band from a school in a bad neighborhood. They aren't very good, and they've got no budget and about 25 kids, but we try to remember that those 25 kids probably get it pretty rough for even being in the band. And so we cheer.
